This activity has contributed to raising awareness of the reading culture, arousing love of reading, forming reading habits, a sense of self-study, contributing to building a learning society.

This year, due to complicated development in the Covid epidemic, students studied online and on TV at home, so the book fair took place in the online form, in line with the situation of the country actively joining hands for Covid-19 epidemic prevention under the direction of the Prime Minister. Hoan Kiem district Primary and Secondary schools have introduced electronic resources that allow the community to access and exploit for administrators, teachers, staff members, students in the school to search, borrow and read directly. At the same time, the librarians at the school have guided administrators, teachers, staff members, and students in the school to participate in the National Online Book Fair 2020 taking place from 19/4/2020 to 20/5/2020, on Book365.vn. In addition, many practical activities with good practices that are suitable for students’ ages such as introducing online books, online reading room, writing contest about favorite books, etc. have been implemented.

Tran Quoc Toan Primary School organized activities such as online reading room for students of the whole school on Zoom software; organized interesting games such as “Chase image capture word” for students in grades 1 and 2; “Who is this” for grade 3 students; “Learning on the author of the work” for the grades 4 and 5. The book fair took place in the excitement of many students in the whole school.

Thang Long Primary School also has an equally attractive activity with the column “Weekend Introduction of Good Books”. Accordingly, each week, students will be introduced to a book for each grade to match their age and cognitive ability. For students in grades 1 and 2 are fairy tales with easy-to-read and easy-to-understand contents, vivid and eye-catching illustrations such as The Little Boy, The Legend of Areca Nuts and Betel Leaves, Legend of The Watermelon, etc. As for the students in grade 3, 4, 5, they were introduced to extremely interesting literature books such as Intense childhood, Diary of a Cricket, Treasure Island, etc.

Right after the first day of launching, Thanh Quan Secondary School held an Online Book Day with a jubilant and bustling atmosphere no less than the Book Fair held directly every year.

At Nguyen Du Secondary School, teachers and students enthusiastically responded to the National Online Book Fair 2020 with the theme: “Reading, improving intelligence, overcoming epidemic worries”.

The “My world through every page” contest of Trung Vuong Secondary School also attracted many students. Each contest work is really the enthusiasm and “spiritual product” of the students. Because not simply introducing the book’s content, students need to express their own thoughts and feelings and send messages to their teachers and friends with creative and attractive text. In just a short time, the organizers have received thousands of emails from grade 6-7-8 students. Even the grade-9 students who are busy with revision plans and hurry to prepare for the transition exam are also excited to participate.
