A tiny courtyard for many years in Moc Quan Nhan Chinh village has become the renderzvous of the Folk Singing Club. Even old women of 70s to the midddle aged or children… all of them see the Club as a meaningful playground. The first bricklayer for the buiding and development of this Club is Meritous artisan Phan Thi Kim Dung.

Born in a family of arts tradition in My Tan commune, My Loc district, Nam Dinh province, since her childhood she had been familiarized with the lyrics of the traditional musics as operetta, songs to praise God, songs like blind strolling musician’s (Xam) from her fathers a wellknown meritous artisan Mr. Phan Duc. Then she was also so lucky to join the singing course of Xam taught by Meritous artisan Ha Thi Cau who used to be teacher of old Ha Nam Operetta Group and later on she was instructed by People’s artist Xuan Hoach-one of the wellknown faces in the Vietnamese fold musics circle.

In 1995, when she accompanied her husband and kids to settle down in Ha Noi at Nhan Chinh hemlet (now called Nhan Chinh ward, Thanh Xuan district), her childhood’s affinity continued to live on. With her wish to spread the vitality of folk musics in the community’s life, she had spent much time transmitted her knowledge of traditional lyrics and songs to people in Moc Quan Nhan village where she had been living for the past 20 years. Her love and aspiration for that had come true when the Folk Singing Club of Moc Quan Nhan village had come into being on 19 May, 2009.
