At present, Hanoi has 6 theaters in many kinds of art such as Puppetry, Cheo, Cai luong, oral play, etc. In 2017, theaters of the Capital have staged nearly 20 programs, new plays and held more than 1,600 performances to serve the audience. However, the quality of many works is not very high.
At the talk, delegates said that theater theory and criticism play an important role and practical meaning for the development of theatrical art of the Capital; contributing to the management on stage of the State.
Delegates also pointed out that in order to improve the quality of the stage, theoretical critics must point out both the goodness and the shortcomings of the work for the author to correct. At present, the theoretical criticism of the Capital has just “complimented” without “criticism”. In addition, the critical theoretical work is left open without any new writer for many years.
So, in the upcoming time, researchers, theorists and artists need to organize seminars, special topics on this work to find solutions to improve the quality of the capital stage, find the good and valuable work.
