With the desire to contribute to the propaganda on the ‘war’ against Covid-19 which is still evolving complicatedly across the country and the world, since early April, Vietnam Musician Association has asked musicians and artists to make songs to encourage all Vietnamese people to fight against the pandemic. Only in a short time, more than 100 songs of artists from all over the country have been sent for approval and the Art Council selected 60 songs by 52 authors for the collection “Belief”.

With the theme of prevention and control of Covid-19 pandemic, the 60 songs in the collection have different outlooks, approaches, and melodies. Many songs of which are written about doctors, physicians, border guards, police, and others at the front line of the “war”, who devote themselves to protect the community health. Besides, melodies and lyrics of the songs remind everyone to protect themselves from the pandemic, raise awareness of people on complying with regulations, and taking part together in repelling the Covid-19 pandemic.

Many folk songs convey the spirit of sharing in the community and express the feelings and emotions of those who are at the front line. There are also vibrant marches with the unequivocal message “Staying home for the nation!”.

In particular, 6 songs are deriving from a poem that has been strongly shared on social networks recently – “If you don’t come back” by author Vu Tuan (a math teacher in Phu Tho). The poem has greatly inspired people, aiming to strengthen the spirit of the forces at the frontline against Covid-19 pandemic and also remind people to do their best.

Two songs which derive from the poem “Please take a nap” and “Flowers blooming during the pandemic” by composer To Van (Lai Chau) performed by singer Viet Tu with sweet, deep and emotional melodies are being received, loved and shared widely by the audience.
