In commemoration of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23), a series of diverse cultural activities will take place in Hanoi’s Ancient Town from November 18 to December 17.

Recognizing cultural heritage as a resource for the development of the cultural industry, particularly cultural tourism, and aligning with events during the “Creative Design Festival 2023” week organized by the Hanoi People’s Committee, in celebration of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 – November 23, 2023), the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi’s Ancient Town collaborates with various organizations and individuals to host a diverse cultural program from November 18 to December 17, 2023.

This series of activities involves the participation of artisans, craftsmen, artists, painters, and designers, all contributing to the preservation and promotion of heritage values. It serves the community, emphasizing the enhancement of the creative traditions of the people of Thang Long – Hanoi, cultivated over more than a millennium of history.

At the Cultural Exchange Center in Hanoi’s Ancient Town, 50 Dao Duy Tu, an exhibition will introduce the art of Tuong (classical drama) in Vietnam’s traditional cultural heritage. There will be a seminar on the application of Tuong materials in contemporary life (9 am on November 25) and a traditional music performance, “Old – New Today,” by the Dong Kinh Co Nhac group (8 pm on November 25).

At the Heritage House, 87 Ma May, on November 18-19, a space will be dedicated to the introduction of Vietnamese tea under the theme “Tea Ware in the Tea Enjoyment Space of Hanoians.”

At Kim Ngan Communal House, 42 Hang Bac, the exhibition showcasing folk paintings of Kim Hoang and the art of Calligraphy under the theme “Engraved Plaque” will open at 3 pm on November 18.

Also at 3 pm on November 18, at the Center for Heritage Information in the Ancient Town, 28 Hang Buom, a cultural exchange between localities will take place, featuring the introduction of pottery art from Bat Trang – Hanoi, and Dong Hoa – Phu Yen.

Dong Lac Communal House, 38 Hang Dao, transforms into an exhibition space introducing Hanoia lacquerware products.

The opening ceremony for the series of events celebrating Vietnamese Cultural Heritage Day will take place at 7:30 pm on November 18 at the Cultural Exchange Center in Hanoi’s Ancient Town, 50 Dao Duy Tu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
