A series of special activities at the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Space

The exhibition will be held offline (at the Vietnam Art and Culture Exhibition Center, No.2, Hoa Lu, Hanoi) from November 22-27 and online on the website: http://trienlamvhnt.vn and http://dsvh.gov.vn, from November 22-31, 2021. The event is a combination of attractive activities, such as displaying Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage; displaying documents, artifacts, costumes, musical instruments and typical scientific documents of intangible heritage registered by UNESCO and the intangible cultural heritage and traditional festivals of Vietnam; photo exhibition of the first National cultural heritage contest; the exhibition with the theme Heritage around us; space to introduce cultural heritage, culinary arts and products of many localities; space to display handicraft products of traditional craft viillages, etc.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong emphasized that Vietnam’s cultural heritage is a valuable asset, forged through thousands of years of building and defending the country. It is a symbol of permanence, as well as a bridge between the past – present – future. That huge treasure of cultural heritage not only contributes to a rich, diverse and imbued Vietnamese culture with national identity, but also brings important values to socio-economic development.

The exhibition space introduces nearly 100 images of typical intangible culture, of which 13 are recognized by UNESCO. Along with that are more than 200 documents, artifacts, costumes, musical instruments and typical scientific documents of 6 intangible heritages registered by UNESCO: Hue Royal Court Music, Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space, Ca Trù, Quan họ Bac Ninh folk song, Then practice of the Tay, Nung, and Thai people in Vietnam, Don ca tai tu – chamber music in the South of Vietnam.

In particular, Nam Dinh Provincial Museum offers the exhibition content of ’The Vietnamese people’s belief in Mother Goddess worship – Identity and values’, with many documents, images, artifacts, etc., thereby, showing more clearly about A unique folk belief, with a lasting vitality of the Vietnamese people, which has spread and become the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The provinces of Gia Lai, Nam Dinh, Lang Son, Thanh Hoa, Tuyen Quang display a variety of photographs, documents, and artifacts with distinctive cultural colors. Localities also support cultural heritage, tourism development, and traditional handicraft goods.


The exhibition area features typical works of the 1st National Cultural Heritage Contest 2021 photo exhibition organized by the Department of Cultural Heritage to promote the cultural, scientific, historical, and aesthetic values of cultural heritage to Vietnamese people and international visitors. It is intended to arouse pride and love for Vietnam’s homeland, country, people, and cultural heritage. More than 83 photographic works selected from more than 1,700 photos by more than 200 authors under the theme “Tangible cultural heritage in Vietnam” are rich in content, with new and unique perspectives.

The exhibition with the theme “Heritage around us” was organized by the Fund for Support for Conservation of Cultural Heritage of Vietnam (Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association) to perform and display traditional ao dai, art photos of Heritage around us, Memory heritage, Traditional craft heritage, introducing heritage tourism projects, helping visitors better understand the country and people of Vietnam. These are the factors that have contributed to making Vietnam a favorite destination for international tourists over the years.

The outdoor exhibition area introduces many traditional handicraft products of famous craft villages in Vietnam.

The outdoor stage is the area where cultural and artistic programs take place, performing special types of intangible cultural heritage such as singing and performing Hau dong, practicing, then, performing Xuan Pha games, etc. especially the exchange and performance nights of the folk art artisan group of Thanh Hoa province, the folk art artisan group of Nam Dinh province and the Hau dong singing club of the Vietnam Culture Centre of the Elderly. Throughout the exhibition days, there are art performances associated with intangible cultural heritage, praising the love of the motherland, praising the love of people.
