I would like to introduce the full text of the President’s Message. The full text of the Message is as follows:
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day (June 28, 2001 – June 28, 2021), on behalf of the Party and State leaders, I cordially extend to all families across the country, our Vietnamese family abroad warm feelings, gratitude and best wishes.
When he lived, beloved President Ho Chi Minh once said “The nucleus of society is the family. To build socialism, we must pay attention to the good nucleus establishment”.
Family is the place where childhood and the love for the motherland are nurtured, and it is also the spiritual support for each of us, so Vietnamese Family Day is also a holiday honoring family values, an important milestone for the Vietnamese children to turn to their roots and their loved ones, thereby nurturing good feelings and noble traditional cultural values of the nation.
From the past to the present, when the country has war or peace, the family has always been an important part of society, a solid foundation contributing to the national strength. Our Party, State and people always respect, be grateful and deeply grateful to the families who have contributed and sacrificed for the Fatherland. In the new stage of development, the family still plays an important role and central position in the socio-economic life of Vietnamese people. The family is still the place to connect and unite generations, preserve and promote the standards, values and quintessence of the national culture, the source of strength for the great unity of the nation. It is the safest and most solid house for each member in the face of difficulties and risks in life.
In the context of the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic in our country, many officials, doctors and soldiers did not mind the hardships and dangers entering the pandemic center. It is the family who has always been the fulcrum, faith, and encouragement for them to overcome difficulties and complete their tasks well. Many families have donated materially, spiritually, and exemplary, encouraging their loved ones to follow the guidelines well, and join hands with the Party, State and the whole political system to prevent and control the epidemic so that Vietnam can become a bright spot which is recognized and appreciated by friends around the world.
On this occasion, I warmly commend all levels, branches, localities, organizations and individuals across the country, Vietnamese community abroad for having positive jobs, responding to emulation movements effectively, contributing to building a happy, progressive and sustainable Vietnamese family, our country is moving forward, realizing the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, which needs to start with the effective contribution from each family.
I request all levels of Party committees, authorities, units and localities to continue to strictly and effectively implement the guidelines of the Party and State on family affairs, especially family development, promotion of the family in nurturing and educating the young generation, preserving and promoting the traditional identity, cultural values and fine standards of Vietnamese families in the new period of the country; pay attention to policy families, families of people with meritorious services, care about the elderly; well implement social security, especially families facing many difficulties, remote and isolated areas, ethnic minorities, improve family capacity to overcome difficulties in socio-economic development, international integration, proactive, responsible and more effective in prevention of domestic violence, inequality, protection of disadvantaged people… contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, “Building a prosperous, happy, progressive and civilized Vietnamese family”.
Every Vietnamese has their own small family, but they also share a large sacred family, which is the country of thousands of years of civilization. I hope every Vietnamese family in the country and abroad constantly strive to rise, each Vietnamese person shows the highest civic responsibility, responsibility, affection for family members to continue to cultivate. Building a real family is a home that multiplies joys and happiness, nurtures the soul, personality, pride, aspiration for dedication, and transmits the good moral and cultural values of the family and is an important resource contributing to the development of the beloved country of Vietnam – For a Vietnam that reaches out to the world, strong and prosperous Vietnam. Wishing all families good health, success and lots of joy and happiness on the occasion of Vietnamese Family Day…
