In compliance with Plan No. 268/KH-UBND dated November 29, 2021, issued by the People’s Committee of Hanoi City on developing the book reading model in Hanoi from 2021 to 2025, and Plan No. 695/KH-SVHTT dated October 17, 2023, from the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi regarding the mobile library service in 2023;
Aiming to effectively coordinate activities to promote book introductions and book services for the people of the capital city, especially encouraging the younger generation to read and contributing to improving the spiritual life of the citizens, the Hanoi Library, in collaboration with several publishers and bookstores, is implementing a mobile library service at Thong Nhat Park, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi, from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on December 1, 2, and 3, 2023. The program is part of the Hanoi Culture and Food Festival 2023.
The mobile library service model in public spaces proves to be effective.
With a collection of over 1,000 rich and diverse books suitable for various reader groups, the Hanoi Library has served tens of thousands of readers and citizens of the capital city who came to visit and read during the three days.
In the upcoming period, the Hanoi Library will continue to provide mobile library services in parks and flower gardens in the inner districts of Hanoi to meet the community’s needs for learning and entertainment, and the development of reading culture.
