On the morning of December 3, the 3rd Thien Mon Dao Championship 2023 took place at the Hanoi District gymnasium with the participation of nearly 500 martial artists representing 25 units from various districts and towns within the city.

The championship was organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Hanoi Thien Mon Dao Association.

The opening ceremony had distinguished guests, including Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, Le Thi Hoang Yen, and Nguyen Hong Minh; Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, Pham Xuan Tai; and Chairman of the Hanoi Thien Mon Dao Association, Master Nguyen Khac Phan.

The organizing committee presented commemorative flags to the participating units of the championship.

Thien Mon Dao, the essence of Vietnamese martial arts and the traditional cultural heritage of the people, has its roots tracing back to the era of Dinh Bo Linh. It has been passed down through the generations, surviving the ups and downs of the country’s history, resisting foreign invasions, and being preserved, studied, and handed down by the Nguyen Khac family in Du Xa Thuong, Hoa Nam Commune, Ung Hoa District, Hanoi, ensuring its continuous development to this day.

Thien Mon Dao martial arts guide practitioners towards the noble values of humanity, awakening and tapping into the latent internal strength within the body. This ensures that individuals remain physically and intellectually healthy, living more purposefully and meaningfully.

Currently, the Thien Mon Dao training movement is rapidly growing, with tens of thousands of practitioners nationwide.

Thien Mon Dao is increasingly integrated into daily life, participating in various festivals, especially the Phu Dong Festival, and national sports festivals, actively contributing to the efforts to enhance the health, intellect, and quality of life for the entire population. This, in turn, contributes to the development of the sports and cultural-social sectors in the capital city and the nation.

Thien Mon Dao has been recognized as an excellent mass sports movement for many years.

“Thien Mon Dao has actively contributed to the moral education and sense of responsibility of students in schools. Martial arts help them develop a high sense of responsibility in training and learning to become outstanding individuals, the future leaders of the country in this new era,” stated Master Nguyen Khac Phan, Chairman of the Hanoi Thien Mon Dao Association.

The organizing committee awarded medals to excellent martial artists on the morning of December 3.
