The occasion is the first time Vietnam and Taiwan has jointly held an exhibition. With modern projection and interactive technology, the “Pulsation – Biodiversity of Vietnam – Taiwan Photography Exhibition” will attract viewers with over 300 photos on the biodiversity of Vietnam and Taiwan.

The exhibition will introduce to the public the biodiversity of Vietnam, a country ranked 16 in biodiversity by international organizations. Vietnam’s nature, with its many ecosystems of forest, swamp, stream, and coral reef, has created habitats for about 10% of the world’s wildlife and bird species.

The biodiversity of Taiwan is shown in the rhythms of nature, the great forests, the ocean, and the natural sceneries in the cities. Four stories of the love for nature and the conservation of biodiversity in Taiwan are also introduced at the exhibition.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Da, Director of Hanoi Museum, stated that: “The “Pulsation – Biodiversity of Vietnam – Taiwan Photography Exhibition” was designed in a way that is close to nature through a gentle approach that offers visitors a change to feel the photographic work in the most authentic way, as close as possible to what nature would expect of our behaviors […] The exhibition also conveys to the public a message of the dialectical relationship between nature and man to help establish appropriate management practices in order to bring about sustainable, humane values in the exploitation and conservation of natural resources …”

Mr. Nguyen Tien Da, Director of Hanoi Museum

Mr. Nguyen Trung Minh, General Director of Vietnam National Museum of Nature, affirmed: “Man has always relied on nature and lived in harmony with nature from the very beginning. Conversely, nature has also provided shelter for and nourished us for a very long time. In recent years, however, people have been harming nature and the environment, resulting in not only the loss of precious natural resources, but also climate changes that cause floods, droughts, and poverty.”

“To survive, we have no choice but to protect nature and the environment and respect the existence of all species in order to create a green planet. Our existence depends on that task. That is the message of this exhibition.  Quintessential photographs of Taiwan and Vietnam on the natural features of caves, great forests, and urban areas and the diversity of animals and plants, as well as stories of man’s love for all species have created a lively and enticing “Pulsation – Biodiversity of Vietnam – Taiwan Photography Exhibition”, he further affirmed.

Mr. Shih Chih-yu, Director of National Taiwan Museum

Mr. Shih Chih-yu, Director of National Taiwan Museum, stated: “Through the “Biodiversity of Vietnam – Taiwan Photography Exhibition”, we wish that the Vietnamese friends will understand more about our guiding principles and purposes of biodiversity display. This is also the starting point for the three museums (Vietnam National Museum of Nature, Hanoi Museum, and National Taiwan Museum) to run a long-term cooperation program to introduce to the public of Vietnam and Taiwan the longstanding cultural beauties of the other’s…”

The “Biodiversity of Vietnam – Taiwan Photography Exhibition” is aimed at promoting and strengthening the international cooperation, especially in the field of exhibition, among members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).

Also at the opening ceremony, Hanoi Museum, Vietnam National Museum of Nature, and National Taiwan Museum entered into a memorandum on long-term cooperation.
