Implementing Directive No. 19-CT/TW dated November 18, 2022 of the Secretariat on the organization of the Lunar New Year celebration in 2023, in order to contribute to creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, meeting the needs of cultural and spirit enjoyment of the people on the occasion of welcoming the Lunar New Year in 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Departments of Culture and Sports; Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism; The Departments of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism of the provinces and central cities shall focus on leading, directing and organizing the implementation of the following tasks:
Develop plans, guide the implementation and organization of physical and sports activities to “celebrate the Communist Party and the Lunar New Year” to serve the people in the Lunar New Year in a joyful, healthy, safe, thrifty manner, preventing epidemics according to the guidance of the Ministry of Health.
Organizational content should focus on mass sports competitions, folk games and traditional sports in accordance with local customs and practices, meeting the cultural and spirit needs of the local people at festivals during the Lunar New Year and practically celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 03, 1930 – February 03, 2023).
Promote propaganda on the benefits and effects of physical and sports activities to improve physical and mental health, prevent diseases; Organize the launch of the Campaign “All people do exercise following the great Uncle Ho’s example” in combination with the Olympic Running Day for the health of the entire people and the month of physical and sports activities for everyone in 2023, to celebrate the 77th anniversary of Vietnam’s Sports Day (March 27, 1946-March 27, 2023) and 92 years of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931-March 26, 2023).
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Vietnam Sports Administration to be the focal point to monitor and urge localities to organize physical and sports activities to “celebrate the Communist Party and the Lunar New Year”; The Departments of Culture and Sports, the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Departments of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism of the provinces and central cities shall develop plans and guide the implementation of physical and sports activities during the Lunar New Year and Olympic Running Day for the health of the entire population and the month of physical and sports activities for local people in 2023, ensuring safety, practicality and efficiency.
