Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of the Center for Culture, Information, and Sports of Phuc Tho district, noted that after several subdued years due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this summer witnessed a substantial influx of children from across the district eager to engage in various activities. To meet the demands and aspirations of these youngsters, the Center concentrated on experiential programs and activities aimed at nurturing knowledge and skills. These not only provided wholesome and fascinating recreational opportunities during the summer break but also facilitated the comprehensive development of the participating children.

In the early days of June, as the summer vacation commenced, the Center organized numerous classes with the participation of hundreds of adolescents and children. They delved into various subjects, including introductory swimming, soccer, and traditional martial arts classes such as Silat, Taekwondo, Karatedo, Binh Dinh Gia martial arts, and Zumba dance.

To attract a large number of children to swimming classes and contribute to minimizing the risk of drowning, the Center for Culture, Information, and Sports of Phuc Tho district organized free swimming classes. From June 8 to August 30, students received guidance from coaches on swimming skills, including water acclimatization, jumping into the water, proper breathing techniques when in direct contact with water, common swimming techniques, frog-style swimming, backstroke, and how to handle underwater emergencies caused by cramps or unexpected situations. This initiative, through free swimming classes, aimed to promote the benefits and effects of swimming training, equip safety skills in aquatic environments, actively promote swimming as a widespread exercise, enhance health, and physique, prevent diseases, and emphasize the roles and responsibilities of all levels, sectors, families, schools, and society in developing swimming education and drowning prevention, thereby contributing to minimizing unfortunate accidents.

In addition, during the summer of 2023, the Center for Culture, Information, and Sports of the district organized various beneficial activities, including a Children’s Book Communication and Introduction Contest in 2023 themed “Proud Thang Long – Hanoi a Thousand Years of Civilization.” Moreover, in collaboration with the Hanoi City Cultural Center, the Center screened films to serve the community and children.

Director Nguyen Minh Tuan further stated that in the upcoming period, the Center would organize additional talent classes to meet the learning, recreational, and entertainment needs of teenagers and children. These classes would be tailored to be safe and healthy, helping children become acquainted with a shared living environment, enhancing life skills, and communication skills, and fostering comprehensive development.
