On December 9, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with the University of Fire Prevention and Fighting, Department of Fire Prevention and Control and Rescue of Hoan Kiem District Public Security, organized a course for training professional skills and practicing fire prevention, control, and rescue plans in 2023.
Attending the course, members of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Team of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports were introduced by officers of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Team of Hoan Kiem District Public Security about the fire and explosion situation, and lessons learned, analysis of the causes of fire and structural collapse; some basic knowledge about fire and rescue, fire and explosion hazard properties of some common types of flammable substances found in agencies and units, basic fire prevention measures and common fire extinguishing agents.

At the practice session, members of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Team of the Department were equipped with knowledge of basic firefighting measures; procedures for fire extinguishing, operating principle of automatic fire alarm systems; introducing fire hoses and wall fire suppression systems; hose spreaders, hose reels, connections, and storage of fire hoses and basic rescue equipment; principle, structure, and operating features of portable fire extinguishers and common demolition vehicles. Under the guidance of fire police officers, members of the Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Team of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports practiced using CO2 cylinders and powder extinguishers to extinguish fires and how to quickly handle possible dangerous situations.
Besides, team members also practice hypothetical situations; assign tasks to fire alarming teams, firefighting teams, ambulance teams, rescue teams, asset moving teams, asset protection teams, etc. according to the content of the approved plan and demonstrate drills at the yard of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.

Fire prevention and fighting training is an annual activity organized by Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports for officers, civil servants, public employees, and workers to improve their understanding and sense of responsibility for fire prevention, fighting and rescue, gradually communicating and disseminating knowledge of fire prevention, fighting and rescue to their colleagues, relatives and people around, thereby they can be more proactive in fire prevention, fighting and rescue and ready to respond to any fire or explosion situation.
