Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh (former student from intake D76, Finance Intermediate School) and her former school mates paid a visit to the site and shared: “This is my second visit to Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site. The nearest time I came here was October 10 to see the exhibition titled “Hanoi – Return Day”. This time I and my school mates want to learn about prison breaks. It can be said that stories of our fathers in combat will never fade away”.

To students and young people, the site has now become a familiar place required to be visited for essays, presentations, and demonstrations with topics. Truong Phi Long (Youth Union of Ngoc Thuy Ward, Long Bien District) said: “On the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s birth date, our branch organizes a visit to the site. Here we learn about the history and struggle of soldiers in the prison. Especially with this thematic exhibition, we are surprised and excited to listen to stories of prison breaks. There are stories we have already known and those we have never known of. The visit has opened up a lot of secrets with thrills and attractions”.

The heat of the summer days of June has not stopped the will to visit the site to learn about prison breaks with “Aspiration for Freedom” exhibition at Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site. This is a good sign for the site at a time when foreign tourists are almost absent and the attractions are trying to stimulate domestic tourism demand.

“Aspiration for Freedom” exhibition is a story about history which is not as rigid as usual, but rather easy to understand to all types of visitors. This confirms the fact that everyone is passionate about learning history through the exhibitions at the site.

With that perspective, Hoa Lo Prison Relic Site Management Unit has set a roadmap to hold thematic exhibitions for the next several years to attract visitors. They will be exhibits of history with traits of reality and modernity. Surely they will attract a large number of visitors to the site.
