On the evening of October 14, 2022, at Hong Ha Theater, Hanoi Cai Luong Theater rehearsed the new play Sand Castle.

Sand Castle– Literary script by Dr. Nguyen Dang Chuong, adapted from Cai luong by Meritorious Artist Ngoc Chi, Director: Meritorious Artist Hoang Vien, Musician: People’s Artist Hoang Anh Tu, Artistic Designer: Meritorious Artist Nguyen Van Truc, Choreographer: Artist Le Phuong.

The play revolves around conflicts in a family that is considered successful and of high social standing. However, this shell could not hide the lies and moral degradation of the family members. Each tragedy step by step occurred, making the audience burst, surprised at the truth… The cleverness of the author and the director was shown in tying the knot, pushing it to the climax and then gradually untying the knot; With the acting style and the new stage staging mindset of Hanoi Cai Luong Theater, the play has brought the audience the breath of the times and reflected the pressing problems in society and families…. In particular, the scientific and aesthetic stage layout has created a multi-dimensional space for the actors’ acting.

The successful Sand Castle play also features talented faces of Hanoi’s Cai Luong Theater, such as famous artists: People’s Artist Thanh Huong as Mrs. Loan, Meritorious Artist Hong Tuyen as Mr. Quan; and artists: Quang Tuan as Mr. Bo, Hong Nhung as Huyen, Dan Thanh as Mrs. An, Nhat Linh as Thien…

The play Sand Castle has been highly appreciated by the City Arts Council for its artistic quality, educational value, and modern performance style, yet still retaining the characteristics of traditional cai luong art. Modern visual choreography combined with props has conveyed the content of the play to make the work closer to the audience.
