The 2021 National Cai Luong Festival will feature 27 plays by 22 Cai Luong units nationwide. After 15 exciting days, the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony of the Festival were solemnly held on the evening of November 20, 2022.

As a result, the Festival Organizing Committee awarded excellent plays for two plays: “Ben dong Long Khot” (Long An Cai Luong troupe) and “Dat lien và Bien ca” (Hai Phong Cai Luong troupe). Awarded 5 Gold Medals for the plays: “Dieu con lai” (Traditional Art Theater of Thanh Hoa Province), “Phan ma dao” (Hanoi Cai Luong Theatre), “Truyen thuyet chang Sa Moc” (Hoang Song Viet Performance Co., Ltd.), “Su menh” (Dong Nai Art Theater), ”Nguyen Cam Ca-Kieu” (Vietnam Cai Luong Theater).

The Organizing Committee also awarded 7 silver medals to the plays: “Huong Tram” (Huong Tram – Ca Mau Cai Luong Troupe), “Vua thanh trieu Le” (Sen Viet Stage), “Ngoc Sang Yen Tu” (Quang Ninh Cai Luong Troupe), “Lam vua – chuyen ngoai chinh su, Thai su Tran Thu Do” (Cao Van Lau Theatre), “Trai tim va Doi mat” (Ben Tre Cai Luong Troupe) and “Nguoc gio” (Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theater). And awarded 3 bronze medals for plays: “Dong song do” (Bac Lieu Provincial Literature and Art Association), “Song mai voi non song” (Tay Do Theater) and “Thien Menh” (Hanoi Cai Luong Theatre).

Besides, the Organizing Committee awarded 40 Gold Medals, 53 Silver Medals, 31 Bronze Medals to excellent individuals.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the following prizes: Outstanding Author Nguyen Dang Chuong (“Dat lien và Bien ca” play); Excellent director of People’s Artist Hoang Quynh Mai (“Dat lien và Bien ca” play); Excellent musician Dang Son Thuy (”Huong Tram” play); Outstanding Artist Meritorious Artist Dat Tang (“Phan ma dao” play); Excellent choreographer Le Phuong (“Phan ma dao” play).
The “Phan ma dao” play – Hanoi Cai Luong Theater
With the Hanoi Cai Luong Theater, this is a successful festival as two of the theater’s plays won medals. These are: “Phan ma dao” play won the Gold medal and the “Thien Manh” play won the bronze medal. In addition, the artists and actors of the Theater participating in the Festival also won 3 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 3 individual bronze medals. It is worth mentioning that in addition to the Gold medal, the play “Phan ma dao” also brought home two awards for the creative team, namely the best painter and the best choreographer.
