At the meeting, Mr. Do Dinh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports expressed his great gratitude to reporters of the press agencies who have accompanied the Department of Culture and Sports in its dissemination and promotion of the city’s cultural and sports activities in recent years. He said that in 2021, in the context of the complicated COVID-19 pandemic developments, with efforts, the solidarity and responsibility in the implementation of the city’s topic “Discipline, responsibility, action, creation, development” for the year 2021, the Department of Culture and Sports has directed focus and attention to its instruction and direction for effectively implementing critical and professional tasks to obtain important and comprehensive results in the fields of culture, sports and family, contributing to the effective implementation of the dual task of the country and the capital “Simultaneously implementing pandemic prevention and socio-economic development”.

Implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, the Resolution of the 17th Hanoi Party Congress for the 2020-2025 period, in which, cultural development is considered as one of the five key tasks: “Special attention is paid to the development of Hanoi’s culture and people on the basis of promoting the tradition of Thang Long – Dong Do – Hanoi as the one with thousand years of civilization and heroism; the city for peace, the creative city which absorbs the cultural quintessence of humanity. Building up the image of elegant, civilized, comprehensively developed Hanoians with humanistic values, a spirit of patriotism and the deep love for Hanoi”; 03 breakthroughs: “Bringing the culture and Hanoians to truly become a great spiritual value and an important resource which that determines the capital development”. The culture has received the attention and participation of the whole community and the political system of the central, city and grassroots levels: Publicity and Education Commission under CPV Central Committee coordinated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a national conference on culture and implement the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress ; The Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1909/QD-TTg dated 12 November 2021 approving the Cultural Development Strategy up to 2030.

Hanoi city has concretized its interest in culture and sports in the Resolution of the 17th Party Congress of the city, in which “Adequate investment is only given to the development of the capital’s culture”. The City Party Committee, the City People’s Committee issued the Program and the Implementation Plan for the Program No. 06- CTr/TU dated 17 March 2021 on “Developing culture, improving the quality of human resources, building up the image of elegant and civilized Hanoians in 2021-2025 period”; Thematic Resolution of the City Party Committee on “Developing the cultural industry in the Capital area in 2021 – 2025 period with orientation up to 2030 and vision up to 2045”. This is the guideline for the development of cultural and sports in the coming time. The city has increased resources to provide support for districts to make investment for renovation and embellishment of relics; increasing investment in cultural mission.
Speaking at the meeting, the representative of the VTC Technical Television hoped that the Department of Culture and Sports would coordinate with the central and Hanoi press agencies to further strengthen the dissemination work in the fields of culture and sport.
