In the school year 2016 – 2017, Tay Ho District’s Education and Training sector actively implemented and concretized the contents mentioned in the Party’s resolutions and the District Party Committee’s action program in its political tasks to clearly enhance the quality of education.

Preschool education has excellently completed its assigned tasks. Tay Ho District continued to be recognized as having completed its universal preschool educational program for 5-year-old children. 8 out of 8 preschools have been recognized as meeting national standards, 2 of which have reached level 2 standards. The quality of comprehensive education for children has been improved remarkably. 100% of schools have successfully implemented the new preschool educational program. The quality of care and nurturing has been well maintained as shown in the rate of children attending boarding schools reaching 100%; the child underweight ratio lowering to 1.4%, down 1.3% compared to the end of the first semester; and the rate of stunt growth in children lowering to 2.5%, down 1.3% compared to the end of the first semester.

Primary education has seen new improvements. The movement of reforming teaching methods has remarkably enhanced the quality of the teaching-learning process in primary schools. The survey aimed at evaluating the quality of the cross-unit foreign language teaching model showed that Tay Ho ranked 4 out of 17 districts surveyed. The number of students winning awards at city-level, national, and international contests increased not only in quantity but also in quality.

In city-level excellent student contests, Tay Ho’s students won a total of 45 awards, an increase of 13 awards compared to the previous school year. Of the obtained awards were 2 first awards, 1 second award, and 10 third awards.

In national contests, Tay Ho won a total of 11 medals, increasing 6 medals compared to the previous school year, of which were 2 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 3 bronze medals, and 1 consolation award. The 2016-2017 school year is the second school year that Tay Ho’s students have participated in international contests. They won a total of four medals, including one gold medal, two bronze medals, and one bronze medal.

                      Rewarding excellent teachers                               

For the secondary educational program, the school year 2016-2017 continued to be a year of achievement in many aspects. 6 teachers took part in the city’s excellent teacher contest and won 1 first award, 4 second awards, and 1 third award. The school year 2016-2017 is the fourth consecutive school year that the district’s secondary graduation rate reaches 100% and also the year that Tay Ho’s core team achieves very good results. In city-level grade 9 excellent student contests of culture-technology, science, and English as well as online math contests, Tay Ho won a total of 160 awards, including 14 first awards, 37 second awards, 43 third awards, and 55 consolation awards.

It is noteworthy that the school year 2016-2017 is the year with the highest number of students winning awards in national contests with 21 awards, including 7 first awards, 3 second awards, 6 third awards, and 21 consolation awards. This school year also has the highest number of students exceptionally accepted to high school with 27 students.

Along with the quality of teaching, comprehensive education continued to be promoted. Thanks to the equal implementation of moral education, life skills education, and physical education for students, the quality of comprehensive education has been significantly improved.

To acknowledge the district’s achievements, at the ceremony, the Party Committee and People’s Committee of Tay Ho District conferred certificates of merit to students with outstanding achievements in the school year 2016-2017.
