Realizing that the Meeting Halls of villages and residential groups are those which play an important role in organizing the dissemination of socio-political tasks in the locality, improving cultural and spiritual life of residents, over the past years, the Party committees and governments of Thach That district has always paid attention to the construction of meeting halls in villages and residential groups.

There are 122 villages and residential groups in Thach That district, including 111 ones with Meeting Halls. From 2015 to now, investments have been put into the new construction of 56 ones and the improvement of 15 ones in villages and residential groups with a total state budget of more than VND 180 billion. Many communes and towns have done well the socialization work, mobilization of funds and manpower to improve facilities and purchase equipment, tables and chairs for meeting halls such as Huu Bang, Phung Xa, Kim Quan, Huong Ngai, Ha Bang, Thach Hoa, Dai Dong, Binh Yen communes…. Most of the meeting halls have played an active role in mobilizing residents in implementing the civilized lifestyle, communication and cultural behavior in community activities and disseminating guideline and instructions of the Party, policies and laws of the State. The meeting halls have been also used as the places for activities of clubs, organizing cultural and artistic activities, sports, entertainment, contributing to promoted cultural and sports development in the community. In recent years, the meeting halls have been selected by many families as the places for organizing wedding events following the new lifestyle. The organization of wedding events at meeting halls presents civilized and economical characteristics, helping limit the impact on the daily life of the neighbors and minimize the erection of wedding booths which encroach the side walks, affect the aesthetic aspect and endanger the traffic.

Apart from achievements obtained in the investment, exploitation, management and use of meeting halls in villages and residential groups in the district area in recent years, some meeting halls have been degraded with small area which is no longer suitable for the criteria for village sports area set by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; equipment is not synchronized and get degraded; the land planning for the construction of cultural and sports areas has faced difficulties. Activities of meeting halls in some localities have not yet matched their scope of investment and construction, causing financial waste and uneven operational efficiency; facilities conditions of cultural and sports areas have not been well brought into play.
In order to further promote the value of meeting halls during the development of grassroots cultural life, in the coming time, Thach That district will continuously perform well its land planning, create land fund, allocate funds from the state budget and mobilize resources for the investment and improvement of grassroots cultural areas; renovate and diversify forms of organization and operations of meeting halls in line with the actual situation in order to attract a large public participation and step-by-step meet the needs of enjoying spiritual culture of residents in the district./.
