Over the course of two days (December 6-7), the People’s Committee of Thach That District organized a Communication Conference for the Action Month for Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response, aligning with the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Children” 2023.

The conference was attended by the leadership of the Office of Culture and Information of Thach That District, leaders of communes, and towns, and nearly 500 delegates, including Party Cell Secretaries, Heads of Fatherland Front Affairs, Hamlet Chiefs, Heads of Family Violence Prevention and Control Clubs, and members of the Women’s Union from Ha Bang, Dong Truc, Canh Nau, Di Nau, and Huong Ngai communes.

In recent years, party committees and governments at all levels, from the district to the grassroots, have consistently prioritized the task of preventing and combating domestic violence. Currently, communes and towns within Thach That District have established and maintained models for preventing and combating family violence, including 9 Civilized and Happy Family Clubs, 19 Family Violence Prevention and Control Clubs, 23 reliable community centers, and 23 hotline numbers. The efforts of various levels and sectors have effectively implemented the prevention and control of family violence at the community level, especially in hamlets and residential groups.

At the conference, Ms. Can Thi Nhung, Deputy Director of the District Health Center, conveyed knowledge about the Law on Prevention and Control of Family Violence and related legal documents, as well as new provisions of the law. Basic information on violence and its various forms was discussed. Additionally, delegates shared circumstances and situations involving violent behaviors and incidents that occurred in daily life, along with preventive measures and interventions on a gender basis.

Through the conference, delegates gained additional knowledge and skills in preventing, detecting, and promptly addressing family violence behaviors, as well as supporting victims of family violence. The conference aimed to disseminate the message about the positive values of a harmonious family environment, creating a healthy living space for family members to build warm, progressive, happy, and civilized households.
