Being a theatre once having 365 day operation throughout the year, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so far, it has had to cancel all performing activities for audience. Most recently, the Theatre has taken part in the contest launched by Viet Nam Stage Artist Association for the Prize of composing and promoting literature and arts works on the theme of protection and prevention of Covid-19 pandemic. And at the last mid-autumn occassion, the Theatre has together with other artistic units of both the central as well as Ha Noi city joined to present at the online art show: Sharing love and compassions – overcoming the pandemic No.6 named “The mid-autumn festival for you”.
In the early October 2021, right after Ha Noi has loosen the social-distancing rgulations, the Theatre has started to make plans for the fresh show “The kids’ world” aimed at small audiences on the occassion of Christmas and welcoming of the new year 2022. Apart from that, it has built repestoires to be introduced in schools when the pupils ar allowed to come back.
“The Kid’s world” is a chain arts programmes which have become Thang Long Puppet Theatre’s brandname dedicated for kids and teens in Ha Noi during the occassions of: Noel, New year, International Children’s Day, Mid-authumn festival ect… The show that has been made by Meritous artist Duc Hung and his team with 5 items of differrent topics, catered to thousands of audiences at the Theatre.

The show “Kids’ world” puts much special emphasis on the new style of staging with a view to creating the interaction between the lively legendary characters and children as their close friends. The world of children will become colourfully dazzling through the puppets’s costumes and plastic arts of the puppets. The kids are mingling themselves with the legendary characters they love. These are super heroes with their mission to prtotect good persons, save the world like humorous Christmas grandfather, lovely small birds, beautiful prince and princess…
According to the plan, as for the next shows of “the Kids’ world” in the series, Thang Long Puppet Theatre is expected to bring to small kid audiences more interesting art pieces for discovering the miracles as well as a meaningful message conveyed these are human love and the world around us. And it is certain that will be a significant spiritual gift the Theatre wishes to present to the Capital’s kids during the occassion of national holidays, new year festival when life returns to “new normal” after the pandemic has ended.
