In the “war” to prevent and repel the COVID-19 pandemic, people’s consciousness plays a particularly important role. Clearly identifying that, in the face of complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, from July 24, 2021, the youth of Thanh Tri district activated the “Blue shirt Line” with the participation of nearly 300 propagandists joining hands to promote propaganda, monitoring and reminding people to strictly observe regulations on the pandemic prevention and control.

The District Youth Union and the Youth Unions of communes and towns have activated 17 youth squads to quickly respond to COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control (16 teams in 16 communes and towns and 1 team of the District Youth Union). When Thanh Tri district implemented Directive No. 17/CT-UBND dated July 23, 2021, by the City People’s Committee, the youth of Thanh Tri district simultaneously deployed the model of “Mobile speakerphone” and launched mobile propaganda on inter-commune and inter-village roads and each alley of villages, residential quarters, markets, places with high traffic density to propagate COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control, also activate propaganda on the system of Fanpage, Zalo, Facebook, strengthen visual propaganda (sticking posters) with the desire to implement the motto “enter each alley, knock door-to-door, check each object”, provide quick and timely information on policies and measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic for all people to understand and implement.
“Sharing the fire” with the pandemic prevention frontline, Thanh Tri district’s youth union members also volunteered to participate in health control checkpoints in communes and towns, on duty 24/24 together with functional forces to inspect the implementation of personal protection measures, supervise vehicles for people entering and leaving the area; support medical supervision, measure body temperature, record information of people entering and leaving the village, propagandize and remind the implementation of the 5K message, etc. thereby contributing to improving the effectiveness of pandemic epidemic prevention and control in the locality. Promoting the spirit of enthusiasm and responsibility, youth, union members and young people also support concentrated vaccination points, remind people to wear masks, disinfect hands, keep distance according to the 5K message by the Ministry of Health and propagandize about the benefits of COVID-19vaccines; distribute meals of gratitude sent by the Hanoi Youth Union to those in need, affected by the pandemic during social distancing.
The model of “Blue Shirt Defense” by youth union members and youths of Thanh Tri district has brought practical effects and has been praised and appreciated by the public, thereby demonstrating the cooperation and contribution of the youth together with the district’s political system in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing to protecting the health of the people in the area.
