The press agencies increase broadcast time on the harmful effects of plastic waste, plastic bags. Besides, they will promote on limiting straw burning, reducing charcoal stoves as well as classifying and treating domestic waste. The significant roles of green schools, traffic green information for the economy – society, environment and community health in daily life will be spoken on press programs. In addition, the press agencies build special pages, promotion programs, articles and reportage to encourage people to change their habit of using plastic bags… in order to propagate and popularize to a large number of people to participate in Environmental Action Month activities in response to World Environment Day 2022.
Plan useful events for the city’s celebration of World Environment Day in 2022. In response to World Environment Day, the Divisions, functional boards, and People’s Committees of wards, communes, and townships are directed by the Departments, Divisions, Branches, and People’s Committees of districts and towns to organize a number of activities as part of “Action Month for the Environment.” Deploy key tasks to solve problems of resource management and environmental protection; proactively prevent and combat natural disasters and adapt to climate change; manage, collect, transport and treat local waste and garbage; strengthen inspection, supervision and thoroughly handle projects with the environmental pollution high risks; control over the collection, transportation and treatment of waste and garbage; gather resources to thoroughly solve the environmental pollution problems of waste and garbage, which directly affect people’s lives and livelihoods; encourage the organization of groundbreaking, construction and handover of environmental protection works for the benefit of the community such as: urban and rural wastewater and solid waste treatment works; plant trees to block sand, prevent erosion and prevent saltwater intrusion; implement the environmental criteria in new rural construction; support people to adapt to climate change…; Exploit and effectively use water resources, strengthen international cooperation in the efficient and sustainable exploitation and use of water resources; Develop and complete the information system and database of the natural resources and environment sector, especially on land, natural resources and environment monitoring; Set up and encourage the monitoring and warning system socialization for natural resources and environment, connecting the central government with the locality; Strengthen the special control for production facilities with the environmental pollution high risks; Implement a system of environmental standards in order to select and screen manufacture types and technologies in attracting investment, not permit projects not meeting environmental standards.

Additionally, the City will implement the Action Month for the Environment by hosting national and international seminars, conferences, and workshops to popularize, introduce, and search for the cutting-edge models on natural resource and environment conservation as well as pollution reduction and climate change response solutions; Workshop to consult relevant departments, branches, and units on abandoning the honeycomb charcoal stove use, not burning rice straw, and measuring motorcycle gas in the city. Organize contests and other events for pupils, students, households and the entire community to seek initiatives on protecting and improving the quality of the environment with the participation of the Departments, NGOs, socio-political organizations, volunteers and related units. Organize a meeting and activities on the sidelines of the event in response to World Environment Day. In response to World Environment Day, plan the Action Month for the Environment 2022 launch ceremony and related activities with the theme “Together for green Hanoi,” such as the Environment 2022 launching ceremony and Action Month – for 2022 environment; Recognize initiatives and suggestions for the city’s environmental preservation in 2021; plan ancillary events to increase involvement and awareness.
