The plan is to concretize the Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU dated June 26, 2016 of the Standing Board of the Hanoi Party Committee on “Development of tourism in Hanoi Capital for the period 2016-2020 and the following years”; Plan No. 43/KH-UBND dated February 10, 2022 of the Hanoi People’s Committee on the restoration and development of tourism activities in Hanoi Capital to adapt safely, flexibly, and control effectively the Covid-19 epidemic in 2022-2023. It is expected that from October 13 to 16, in the center of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, there will be the 2022 Hanoi Craft Village/Street Festival with about 200 booths promoting and introducing products from craft villages/Streets.
The Hanoi Craft Village/Street Festival in 2022 aims to build the craft village tourism products, promote cultural space, craft village tourism, and the products made by craft village artisans to the people of the country, international guests and the people of the capital. It aims to create opportunities for units, artisans, traditional craft villages of Hanoi and the whole country to promote and introduce their products and look for opportunities to cooperate, sell and export their products.
The Hanoi People’s Committee plays role of directing, organizing and Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center of Hanoi plays role of implementing. The program is expected to take place from October 13 to October 16, 2022 at the center of Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The opening ceremony of the festival is expected to take place at 6 pm on October 14, 2022.
Within the framework of the program, there will be an exhibition to introduce the space of craft villages and craft streets in Hanoi; activities introducing the stages and production processes of certain craft village products, the area for visitors to experience and practice some stages of craft village product production. Besides, there will be a fashion show of Ao Dai made of Van Phuc silk products and of jewelry made from horns and inlaid pearls, art performances, traditional folk games such as: skipping rope, jumping horse, etc., and past and present culinary introduction, etc.
In particular, the festival will be have about 200 booths that will promote and introduce craft village tourism products, cultural space, craft village/craft streets tourism, products of craft village artisans to the people of the country, international guests and the people of the capital, etc.
