In February this year, the Department of Fine Arts, Photography, and Exhibition collaborated with Vietnam Fine Arts Association, Departments of Culture and Sports, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Literature and Arts Associations in provinces and province-level cities launched a creation movement for Vietnam Fine Arts Exhibition 2020.

The exhibition is organized to summarize art creation activities within the art scene (2016-2020) in recognition of the achievements by Vietnamese painters and sculptors in the career of building and development of the Vietnamese Fine Arts scene characterized by advancement, national identity while providing the art-loving public with an opportunity to enjoy works of high artistic value and excellence.

Participants in the exhibition include domestic and overseas Vietnamese painters and sculptors who are 18 years of age or older and who work in the field of visual arts. The artworks vividly reflect the working life and the life of studying as well as building and defending the Fatherland, collectively all issues of contemporary life. The organizers also encourage the authors to explore and be creative in terms of content and form of expression.

Artworks participating in the exhibition include those in the fields of Painting, Graphics, Sculpture, Installation Art, Performance Art, Video Art, and others which have been composed from 2016 to present. Each author can participate with up to three works. Art Council members may send their works to the exhibition but cannot be considered for prizes.

The time for receiving artworks is from August 3 to August 12. The place of submission of the works is the Fine Arts Department (Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition), 38 Cao Ba Quat, Hanoi.

The Organizers are expected to award 03 First prizes, 06 Second prizes, 08 Third prizes, and 15 Consolation prizes for the best works. The Organizers also call for the grant of other prizes from organizations and individuals.

Vietnam Fine Arts Exhibition (formerly National Fine Arts Exhibition) is one of the important events of the fine arts industry, attracting many famous authors to attend. Starting in 2020, the exhibition is held every 3 years. The exhibition will take place in Hanoi.
