Recently, the Women’s Union (WU) of Ung Hoa district has well completed many programs and tasks, aroused and promoted the responsibilities of women officials and members in development of the country and hometown to be wealthier, more beautiful and civilized. In particular, with many practical activities, the association at all levels have made great contributions in creating civilized lifestyle in the locality, keeping the environment “green – clean – beautiful”, improving the cultural and spiritual life for the people.

Actively responding to the campaign “All people unite to build a new countryside and a civilized city”, the Association has promoted propaganda and mobilized women’s members and people to participate in building village roads and alleys, Inland roads, public works… The District Association has directed 100% of the Association units to actively encourage the women to change the crops and livestock towards sustainable development, build safe, effective and positive production and business models, participate in Sub-committees to build infrastructure, well implement social security policies, create the civilized lifestyle and protect and improve the quality of the environment and rural area appearance. The Association units organized 77 propaganda conferences on new rural area development (NTM) and advanced rural area development. At the same time, they encouraged officials and members to actively participate in the contest “bright – green – clean – beautiful village roads, alleys, and residential areas”, create strong effect among the people and beautify the new rural’ areas’ landscape. Up to now, associations at all levels have built and improved the quality of 370 roads with women’s self-governing, 168 green – clean – beautiful roads, 205 flower roads, managed and renovated 39 Cultural House to be bright – green – clean – beautiful and friendly. In Lien Bat and Trung Tu communes, the women organized the construction of 02 flower roads named “Happiness Road” with a length of 2,000m. They coordinate to build and place a name sign “Garden for Uncle Ho” at ATK Chua Chong historical site to celebrate Party congresses at all levels. Responding to theme of the year “Safety for women and children”, the Association organized the handover of 05 safe playgrounds for children, 09 bookcases with over 12,000 books with content of training life skills for children. In residential areas, villages, the movement of general cleaning of village roads and alleys on Saturday and Sunday mornings has become a routine with female officials and members’ participation.

To highlight the role and responsibility of women in civilized and happy family, the Association at all levels have implemented Project no.03 “Supporting and creating the civilized, happy and solid families” in 2016 – 2020 period, together with the movement “Creating 5-zero, 3- clean families”. From the district to the grass root units, the association have been successfully organized 08 contests of “Ung Hoa women protect the environment and develop the new rural area”; 12 Festivals of Cultural Villages, Civilized Road, Self-Managed Cultural Houses; 03 Cooking contest with the theme of “Love bracelets”; “Family meal”; “Connecting love”; 05 contests “Healthy, beautiful, talented and charming women”; 01 seminar on “The role of women in building business models, participating in development of business models and new rural area”, organized 48 propaganda sessions on “Effects of plastic waste on health and environment”; “Say no to honeycomb charcoal stoves” and “Say no to burning straw” for nearly 4,000 female members. In particular, implementing the campaign “Creating a family with 5-zero, 3-clean”, the Association at all levels implemented the model of “Clean field” and “Clean office” with the active participation of 29/29 units, 90 schools and 21 companies in the locality. The models have made a drastic change in awareness and behavior of officials and people in maintaining environmental hygiene and ensuring labor safety. Most of people are familiar with placing pesticide packages in the right place. Officials and employees have been more active in building and keeping a clean and beautiful workplace, creating green and environmentally friendly spaces.
To implement the Directive 11-CT/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee and Plan No. 37- KH/HU of Ung Hoa District Party Committee, the model of “Women’s Union creating civilized weddings and funerals” has been actively propagated by officials and members from association units to implement effectively among members. The district WU organized mass weddings for 19 couples. The units propagated and encouraged 1,835 weddings to well implement new lifestyles and 1,254 civilized funerals. The lavish and long-term meals at weddings and funerals have decreased significantly.
The works of the Ung Hoa district women union have been praised and responded by the people. Thereby, they has contributed significantly to the implementation of socio-economic development in the locality, improvement of the quality of the movement of creating civilized lifestyle and developing new rural area and civilized cities in the locality.
