On October 9, 2021, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Stage Artists Association organized the awarding of prizes for composing and promoting literary and artistic works on the topic of “Covid-19 prevention and control”.
The Vietnam Stage Artists Association organizes an award for composing and promoting literary and artistic works on the topic “Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control” to spread the good values of organizations and individuals across the country in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
After two months of launching, the Organizing Committee has received more than 200 entries. Through the preliminary round, 143 valid works of high professional quality were selected for the judging round of the Jury.
Most of the works participating in the Awards have professional investment such as content, staging, and acting by artists. The content of the works mostly praises the Vietnamese spirit, praises the merits of doctors and nurses on the front lines of the fight against the pandemic, reflects all aspects of social life during isolation or isolation, as well as propagandizes about health and safety issues to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, many works deal with issues such as education, the sacrifices of frontline soldiers, etc.
The categories of participation in the Awards are also very diverse, from long plays to short plays, cheo and cai luong scenes to cheo songs, cai luong, Southern folk songs, Quan Ho Bac Ninh, Vi giam, Bai Choi, etc.

Results: The Organizing Committee selected and awarded 38 A prizes, 24 B prizes for works and 2 excellent individual prizes including Best Director – Quoc Tin; Excellent Cameraman – Cong Pham (Quoc Huy).
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the most favorite work (with the most total shares, likes, and comments) for 2 works, including, “The love of a white blouse soldier” by author Le The Song, the performance of People’s Artist Tu Long and the work “Special class in Covid pandemic” by Thang Long Water Puppet Theater, the only work written on the topic of students in the Covid-19 pandemic with a unique and attractive form. The individual prizes and the voting prizes have the same value as the A prize of the works.

Most notably, the “Special class in Covid pandemic” of Thang Long Water Puppet Theater won “double” awards, which is the A prize and the “Favorite audience” award. This award is a great encouragement for Theater artists, contributing to spreading the emotional connection of artists to join hands to overcome the pandemic.
Speaking at the award ceremony, People’s Artist Giang Manh Ha, Chairman of the Jury, affirmed that 143 entries have been and are having a strong impact, creating effects in the organization, publication, promoted and introduced on social networking sites, positively responded by the public, the audience, that strong influence shows the spirit and responsibility of the artist, of the Vietnamese stage life, joining hands contributing to accompany the country in the “fight” against the Covid-19 pandemic.
