Over the past time, the youth of Nam Hong commune, Dong Anh district has conducted many practical activities towards the community. Many movements have been launched such as “Voluntarily participate in the socio-economic development of the capital”, “Accompanying the youth in establishing career”, “I love Hanoi” … Activities and movements have been widely deployed by the youth in Nam Hong commune with new creative and effective ways. With the movement “I love Hanoi”, the youth of Nam Hong commune has shown a practical way to make the locality become cleaner and more beautiful. Notably, the youth of Nam Hong commune has annually conducted more than 50 environmental sanitation campaigns with activities such as removing illegal leaflets and flyers, planting 60 new green trees at public places in the commune area, maintaining the effectiveness of activities “Volunteer Saturday”, “Green Sunday”… The movement of youth volunteer has been actively welcomed and supported by the youth of Nam Hong commune with: Flower road in Dia village; Concreting the playground at the meeting hall of Ve village and building 2 playgrounds for children in Dia village… Especially, the union members and youths of Nam Hong commune have, with their capacity and efforts, turned two spontaneous garbage disposing yards into youth flower gardens”, contributing to the beauty of the environment and landscape and improving the spiritual life of residents; thereby raising the awareness of residents in keeping environmental sanitation.

Participating in the sports movement of Nam Hong youth
Promoting the pioneering role of “Where difficulties occur, the young will occur”, the youth of Nam Hong commune have contributed a lot in volunteer youth movements, especially during the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic. The youth union of Nam Hong commune has been arranged over 800 turns of members to stay at health control locations; organized 75 sessions of mobile propaganda; established youth teams to provide support in sampling for COVID-19 test in villages.
The youth of Nam Hong commune has paid attention to the care taking and education of teenagers and children as well as establishment of the Ho Chi Minh Pioneer Youth Team. The commune’s Youth Union organized weekend playing activities for the children; maintained many practical tasks for teenagers and children, especially those with unfavorable living conditions such as: Delivering gifts to disadvantaged children, Providing bicycles and desks to excellent students and students with unfavorable conditions; Delivering gifts to 246 students affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; Offering smartphones and computers to children under the Program titled Wave and computers for children. In addition, the Youth Union of Nam Hong commune delivered school bags, notebooks and school supplies to 81 ones with unfavorable living conditions, etc.
In the XXX term, 2022-2027, activities which will be tentatively carried out by Nam Hong commune’s Youth Union are as following: Every year, at least 200 union members and young people will be mobilized to participate in volunteer activities; Planting 10 – 20 new trees every year; Completing at least 1 youth work each year; Providing supporting for 200-300 disadvantaged youth and children with unfavorable living conditions; Organizing summer activities which may attract the participation of over 80% of pioneers.
