Born into a patriotic Confucian family, with aspirations of independence and freedom for the nation, he left Vietnam to find a way to save the country, travelled across the five continents, find Marxism – Leninism and the way to national liberation – proletarian revolution. He founded, trained and led our Party – a true Marxist-Leninist Party – ended the deadlocked period on the direction of revolution in Vietnam. Under the leadership of the Party, our people raised the flag of national independence and socialism, combining national strength with the power of the times to liberate the nation, the class, social and human. Since the day of the leadership of the Party and Uncle Ho, the Vietnamese revolution has won glorious victories, making “the brilliance of our nation, our people and our country”. The victory of the August Revolution in 1945 changed the destiny of our nation and our people from being slaves to being masters of the country; the victory of the long and heroic resistance against the French colonialist invasion resulted in the victory of Dien Bien Phu; the victory of the resistance war against the US saved the country and the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign to unified the whole country to step forwards socialism. The country’s renovation over the past 30 years has had great achievements of historical significance, and Vietnam’s position in the international arena has been increasingly confirmed and enhanced.

Remembering Uncle and being proud of Uncle, we must try to follow Uncle Ho’s teachings. Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example is also an act of gratitude to Uncle Ho. We are determined to fulfill Uncle Ho’s wishes, that is: “The entire Party and our people unite to strive and to build our peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and rich country, making a worthy contribution to the cause of the worlds’ revolution”. The results of 4 years of implementing Directive 05 of the Politburo on “Promoting learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style” have affirmed that studying and following Uncle Ho’s example not only responded immediate urgent requirements but also had fundamental and long-term significance for the revolutionary cause of the Party and people.
Together with the people and soldiers of the country, in recent years, the Party Committee and the people of Hanoi have seriously, extensively and effectively implemented Directive 05 of the Politburo associated with building and regulation of the Party and performance of political duties. With the motto “Efficiency – Practicality – Spread”, Hanoi has had many innovations in implementation, affirming its role as a point-making unit. Many experiences of Hanoi have been widely disseminated throughout the country. The serious and effective implementation of the Directive has directly contributed to strengthening solidarity and unity within the Party, building a clean and strong Party organization and increasing social consensus.
Practically celebrating the 130th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, the entire Party, the entire people and our entire army vows to live, fight, work, study and follow the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh, unite, promote the strength of the entire nation, promote comprehensively the innovation, are determined to make our country more and more prosperous and civilized, firmly defend the integrity of territorial sovereignty and each area of our Fatherland./.
