At the ceremony, more than 700 coaches, experts, and athletes from the 23 teams with activities at Hanoi National Sports Training Center offered incense to pay tribute to Uncle Ho – the great leader of the Vietnamese people.
After the ceremony, the athletes training at Hanoi National Sports Training Center will visit President Ho Chi Minh’s house in Nghe An to really get a sense of his simplicity and sacrifice. These activities will help the athletes realize that it is necessary to constantly strive in learning and training to contribute their efforts to the society and the country.
On this occasion, Hanoi National Sports Training Center also launched the movement of studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. This emulation movement will last until the end of the year and will honor talented and dignified athletes.
Sharing her feelings, Hanoian athlete Vuong Thi Huyen, one of those training at the center, expressed her excitement from attending the event every year. After each occasion, Huyen is more determined to practice and compete to bring successes, medals, and glory to the country. For Huyen, this event is as meaningful as a spiritual remedy that urges athletes to practice and compete with their utmost efforts, worthy of the sacrifices made by the beloved President Ho Chi Minh for the country.
Also sharing Vuong Thi Huyen’s view, athlete Quach Cong Lich said that he himself, like many other athletes, would make every effort to study and follow Uncle Ho’s exemplary simplicity and greatness, and would do his best in training and competing to bring glory to the country.
