The film week will introduce to the audience special works from the cinema of ASEAN member countries, contribute to connecting cultures of ASEAN countries, and build a peaceful, stable, dynamic, cohesive and prosperous ASEAN community.
This is also an opportunity to affirm the image of a peaceful, stable, friendly, innovative and potential Vietnam; promote the country, people, landscapes and fine, humane cultural traditions of Vietnam. Thereby, contributing to the realization of political goals, enhancing the role and position of Vietnam as ASEAN Chairman in 2020.
Each ASEAN country chooses 01 film and sends the film to attend. The participating films must show cultural identity, characteristics and natural beauty, social life and people of ASEAN countries; There are no sensitive topics about politics, sovereignty, defense-security, religion and consistent with Vietnamese customs and culture.
ASEAN Film Week 2020 will contribute to the communication, social orientation, and promotion of the good values of Vietnamese people i.e. “hospitality, courtesy, harmony, and gratitude”. – Through Film Week, to introduce literature, life, people of ASEAN countries; to enhance understanding of Vietnamese people about culture and people of ASEAN countries, and to contribute to mutual understanding and to create a basis for expanding economic cooperation and political stability.
ASEAN film week is expected to be held in major cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh in June and July this year.
