Launching a song-writing contest about the fight against COVID-19

According to Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Ngo Duy Hieu, through competitions to portray the efforts and determination of the whole Party, people and army in the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic; propagating to the whole society good models and effective solutions in pandemic prevention; reflecting the difficulties, hardships, silent sacrifices, solidarity, creativity, optimism, belief in the victory of the frontline forces in the fight for people’s lives; so that the people are really moved and sympathize with the difficulties and hardships of the frontline forces, thereby raising the awareness of pandemic prevention, determination and consensus to soon repel the pandemic and win this tough & fierce battle.

The contest is not limited to works, open to Vietnamese musicians (professional and amateur) living and working at home and abroad. Entries must have clear, easy-to-understand lyrics, ideological content and good artistic quality, suitable for Vietnamese folk customs and traditions, easy to popularize, easy to sing, and easy to arrange for solo, group or choir singing. Entries are performed by the authors or the singers, have not been disseminated, and have not participated in any contests at the central, local and other departments and agencies. Time to receive works: from 0:00 on August 19 to 17:00 on October 1. The closing ceremony and awarding ceremony will be in mid-October 2021, broadcast live on Vietnam Television in association with the event “Vietnam – Aspiration for Peace” organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

On the same day, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor launched a contest to make a short clip on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic with the theme “Unforgettable moments for Vietnamese people living and working in the country and abroad; to encourage those who are directly involved in pandemic prevention and control on the Tiktok platform. Entries must be video products with a length of no more than 3 minutes. Time to receive works from September 1 to September 30, 2021.
