VPBANK Hanoi Marathon ASEAN 2020 has completed the March challenge – “Crossing the pandemic time” with the participation of 502 athletes.

After the Prime Minister issued the Order on social isolation to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnamese people tend to participate in virtual running events, including VPBank Hanoi Marathon — Heritage Race. Instead of running in public places, the runners have taken part in a variety of interesting and unique running form. They can still complete their chosen distance in one run (5km, 10km, 21km and 42km) at home or around their house within the specified time, while ensuring the compliance with the requirements “Everyone stat at home”.

The result of the challenge is that the athlete Hung Dang with 964.19 km (registration item: 250 km) won the first prize. Athlete Nguyen Nam Giang with 861.78 km (registration item: 250km) got the second place. And athlete Tran Thanh Trung ranked third with 592.31 km (registration item: 250 km).

In April, the organizing committee of VPBANK Hanoi Marathon ASEAN 2020 will continue to hold a tournament with the theme “Marathon at home – Supporting doctors and medical staff in the Covid-19 war”.

In April, the organizing committee of VPBANK Hanoi Marathon ASEAN 2020 will continue to hold a tournament with the theme “Marathon at home – Supporting doctors and medical staff in the Covid-19 war”. This is the first online running tournament which has been held with all distances and prize policies for both men and women like a professional marathon. The tournament will take place from April 8, 2020, to the end of April 22, 2020. The three main purposes of the tournament: Responding to the Government’s call for “staying at home and social isolation” to prevent the spread of pandemic; Encouraging sports practice at home to remove boredom, enhance fitness and immunity; Providing financial support, showing respect and encouragement to, and relieving the pressure of doctors and physicians at 20 frontline hospitals where patients with Covid-19 are treated.

Each runner will donate VND 500,000 to the activity “Supporting doctors and medical staff in the Covid-19 war” and the whole amount will be given to the frontline hospitals where patients with Covid-19 are treated.
