In implementation of the Decision No. 1356/QD-BVHTTDL dated April 16, 2018 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the organization of the Film programs for commemorating the big holidays such as April 30, May Day, May 7 and May 19, 2018, Vietnam Cinema Department directs and coordinates with Vietnam Event Entertainment Joint Stock Company, Giai Phong Film Joint Stock Company, National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Single Member Limited, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, film companies, Film Release and Cinema Centers of provinces and cities under directly central government to organize Film programs throughout the whole country from April 27, to May 23, 2018.
The films selected for the commemorative program are on historical themes, soldiers, youth generation in wartime and the period of country renewal and construction such as Me oi, con da ve (Mommy, I came back), Giac mo tho cam (Dream of Brocade), Mot dat me cho tat ca (A homeland for all people), Dang dung Viet Nam, Thoi tre trung soi noi (Ebullient Youth), etc.

a feature film produced by Vietnam Event Entertainment Joint Stock Company that tells two lonely lives, i.e. Mrs. Nga, a retired military medical doctor, her husband and son are martyrs and Minh, an orphan boy, the son of two soldiers. Twenty years after the end of war, Mrs. Nga still suffered the loss, deep grief & pain after the war, and lived in loneliness and illness, and Minh’s life was pushed to the edge so that he has no way to live. They share their unhappiness and “motherhood” gave them a warm life in the same house.
The Giac mot ho cam (Dream of Brocade) is produced by the Film Center for Ethnic Minority, Mountainous Region and Marine & Island. It is a story about Hoa, a Muong ethnic young girl was born in a family with a tradition of brocade weaving, however, the handicraft is missed from time to time. Hoa and her friends restored the weaving and helped her local people in economic development with their traditional brocade weaving.

The documentary film Mot dat me cho tat ca (A homeland for all people) (02 parts) produced by National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Single Member Limited expresses the aspiration came true for a peaceful, unified and developed Vietnam of witnesses during the resistance war against the United States and wish to contribution to the motherland of each Vietnamese person.
Dang dung Viet Nam is a story about the life of the poet, heroic war martyr Le Anh Xuan, the author of the poem “Dang dung Viet Nam”, which is in the spirit of a heroic generation with ideals, nostalgia and noble ambitions.
Thoi tre trung soi noi (Ebullient Youth) produced by Giai Phong Film Joint Stock Company tells about a difficult but heroic time of the Ho Chi Minh young generation, young volunteers who contributed to build the economy in the early years of the country unification.
In addition to showing 5 feature and documentary films, the Film program also features a mountainous program entitled “Firmly maintaining social order and safety in ethnic minority areas” with 7 categories such as Popularization of legal policies, Children, Music, Specialized reportage, Popularization of scientific knowledge, Preservation of national cultural identity and Films (“Duong ve ban (Road to village)”.
In addition, in the film program, the Film Release and Cinema Centers, and Cinema Centers continue to exploit films featuring revolutionary themes, President Ho Chi Minh, postwar, etc. to serve the people.
