On January 28, at Thanh Tri Gymnasium (Hanoi), after the final series of the 2021 Basketball Tournament for Students of Hanoi, the tournament found new champions in each category.
All 4 matches of the secondary and high school men and women categories took place extremely attractive and exciting. In particular, in the highlight match of the men’s high school final between Yen Hoa High School and Tran Phu High School, the audience witnessed a dramatic chase between the two teams.
Yen Hoa High School won the high school men’s 2021 Basketball Tournament for Students of Hanoi.
In the end, Yen Hoa High School was crowned City Champion for the first time in history with a 40-32 victory over Tran Phu High School, thereby closing a season full of surprises and attractions. This championship is the result of many years of developing a methodical basketball movement at Yen Hoa High School.
In the final match of the Secondary School Men’s 2021 Basketball Tournament for Students of Hanoi between Ngo Si Lien Secondary School and Nguyen Sieu Secondary School, Ngo Si Lien Secondary School won with a score of 38-36 to have the second consecutive city championship.
In the women’s category, the Final High School Women’s 2021 Basketball Tournament for Students of Hanoi is a duel between Doan Ket – Hai Ba Trung High School and Tay Ho High School. Doan Ket – Hai Ba Trung High School is a team rich in tradition, once the City Champion and the reigning runner-up of the tournament. However, Tay Ho High School played with determination and enthusiasm to win the final 24-21, thereby making history with the first City Championship.
Tay Ho High School won the Women’s 2021 Basketball Tournament for Students of Hanoi.
The final match of the women’s secondary school category is a duel between Nguyen Truong To Secondary School and Cau Giay Secondary School. Facing a strong and traditional opponent, Cau Giay Secondary School won by a tight margin to have the first time being crowned in the city’s women’s category.
The 2021 Basketball Tournament for Students of Hanoi, organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, took place from January 8 to January 28 at Thanh Tri Gymnasium (Hanoi). Participating in the tournament were 168 teams, including 89 high school men’s teams, 40 high school women’s teams, 23 secondary high school men’s teams and 20 secondary school women’s teams.
A total of 196 matches in nearly 3 weeks. In the High School category, the teams competed in a knockout format. At the secondary school age, the teams are divided into groups to play in a round-robin format before entering the knockout round.
This is a long-standing tournament for schoolchildren in the Capital and a place to discover the factors to select for the youth basketball teams in Hanoi.
