4 stamp patterns showing four Vietnamese popular folk games: Mandarin square capturing, Rope skipping, Dragon-snake game, Blind man’s bluff, and 01 block showing the image of Tug of war. The stamp was designed by painter To Minh Trang (Vietnam Post) with a borderless design and stamp frame size 43 x 32 mm and block frame size 90 x 60mm.

Based on Hang Trong folk painting style, painter To Minh Trang made the borders of the children’s character blocks, using big painting strokes. Facial expressions of the characters remind the childhood of each adult person. The background gaps between the borders and the children characters create a folk conventional space.

The color of the stamp set is vivid and eye-catching. The funny and lovely shapes make impression on people of all ages. When placed side by side, the stamps remind the childhood of many Vietnamese generations. Folk games not only is a game for children but also demonstrate unique cultural features of the Vietnamese nation.

By releasing the stamp set themed “Folk Game”, Vietnam Post desires to help children improve life skills, enhance physical health, develop thinking ability, creativity, ingenuity, and understand more about friendship, love of family, love of homeland and country.
