To celebrate the 21st anniversary of Vietnam Family Day (June 28), the Women’s Union of Thanh Tri district organized “Family Day – Loving Connection” on June 24, 2022.
The Prime Minister issued Decision No. 72/2001/QD-TTg dated May 4, 2001, on Vietnamese Family Day, in which June 28 every year was selected as Vietnamese Family Day. This day is to honor family traditions, the day everyone in the family cares for each other, society cares for children, couples understand the value of a home and jointly build a happy, equal, progressive and happy family.
For many years, Thanh Tri district has organized many practical activities to respond to Vietnam Family Day. In 2022, “Family Day – Loving Connection ” has really created an attraction with a variety of activities, such as cooking competition; display, introduction and promotion of safe agricultural products, OCOP products and women-owned OCOP potential in 2022; video clips of women’s folk dance contest to celebrate the successful 13th National Congress of Women’s Deputies; propaganda to prevent and control the harmful effects of eating too much salt, etc.

In the speech at the opening of the festival, Mr. Pham Nguyen Nhung, District party Member, Chairman of Thanh Tri District Women’s Union emphasized that family was the first place to form and nurture the personality of each person. Only in the family each individual can receive boundless love and tolerance. A happy home was the common but deepest dream of every person. Family Day June 28 was really an opportunity for each family member, each local mass organization to uphold their responsibility in taking care of family, creating a strong change in family development, so that each family was a truly each person’s home, and a healthy cell of society. With the theme “Family Day – Loving Connection”, this festival was not only a festival for all families but also an opportunity for members to express their love and responsibility towards their loved ones, and left the beautiful memories and unforgettable impressions on each family”.
The cooking competition with the theme “Warm and loving family meal” attracted the participation of 21 families from the Sub-unions in the area. The families demonstrated their ingenuity in the presentation, processing and decoration of dishes, their skills to choose fresh, safe, and nutritious ingredients, etc. The competition was an opportunity for families to have more opportunities to exchange, learn experiences and cooking secrets to preserve and promote love, attachment, and happiness in their families.
Within the framework of the festival, there was also a presentation of 15 video clips of the female folk dance contest attracting more than 300 amateur artists from Women’s Union of communes and towns in the area to celebrate the successful 13th National Congress of Women’s Deputies. In addition, there was a exhibition of OCOP products (one product one commune), with good quality and diverse in design, owned by women starting a business.
At the end of the cooking competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the Excellence Award to Yen My Commune, First prize to Ngu Hiep commune and Van Dien town, the second prize to Ta Thanh Oai, Tu Hiep, and Thanh Liet communes, third Prize to the remaining units.
“Family Day – Loving Connection” in Thanh Tri district in 2022 is a healthy and useful playground, thereby contributing to spreading good family values, creating opportunities for families to exchange, learn and gain more useful knowledge to build and maintain family happiness, contributing to building Thanh Tri district more and more civilized, prosperous and beautiful..
