At the World Travel Awards ceremony held in Dubai, the capital city of Hanoi was recognized as the “World’s Leading City Break Destination” 2023.
According to information from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, on December 1 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the World Travel Awards honored Vietnam as the “World’s Leading Heritage Destination” 2023. This marks the fourth time Vietnam has received this prestigious award, following previous acknowledgments in 2019, 2020, and 2022.
To achieve this victory, Vietnam surpassed numerous contenders, including Egypt, Greece, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, and Armenia.

Hanoi, acclaimed as the “World’s Leading City Break Destination” 2023, once again affirms the nation’s leading potential and allure concerning natural resources and the longstanding cultural heritage of Vietnam. This title aids Vietnam in further promoting its tourism image internationally, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to preserve and promote the country’s heritage values, contributing to elevating Vietnam’s tourism industry.
In addition to the title of “World’s Leading Heritage Destination 2023” bestowed upon Hanoi, other destinations across Vietnam received top world awards in various categories: Hanoi as the “World’s Leading City Break Destination 2023”, Phu Quoc Island as the “World’s Leading Natural Island Destination 2023”; the “Emerald Gem” in Northwest Moc Chau as the “World’s Leading Local Nature Destination 2023”; Ha Nam as the “World’s Leading Local Cultural Destination 2023”; and Tam Dao as the “World’s Leading Town Destination 2023.”
