According to the Organizing Committee, there are 2 options to organize a series of activities “Country Market – Childhood memories” depending on the development of the Covid-19 pandemic. If the Covid-19 pandemic continues to evolve uncontrollably in July, activities will be organized on a centralized scale for daily operations. In July, when the Covid-19 pandemic is controlled and safe, the program will take place with the participation of more than 100 people including artisans and young people of 13 ethnic groups who are daily activities of ethnic community groups such as Tay, Nung (Thai Nguyen); Dao (Ba Vi, Hanoi); Mong (Ha Giang); Kho Mu (Nghe An); Muong (Hoa Binh); Thai (Son La); Ta Oi, Co Tu (Thua Thien Hue); Ba Na (Gia Lai); Xo Dang (Kon Tum); Ede (Dak Lak); Khmer (Soc Trang). Besides, there were also the participation of about 20 Kinh ethnic artisans in Duong Lam ancient village on July 23, 24, and 25, 2021, along with ethnic children and teenagers to support the traditional folk games.

Coming to “Country Market – Childhood memories”, viewers will return to the colorful countryside markets of the Northern countryside through various typical activities such as introducing special products, cuisine, etc. Besides, visitors will also be immersed in and experience the activities of organizing folk games, folk songs and dances, etc. These are traditional folk games such as: catching loaches in jars, playing “đánh chắt chơi chuyền” game, playing Mandarin Square Capturing, jumping rope, tug of war, walking on stilts, etc.

The space of the traditional country market and the booths introducing, manipulating, performing and selling products and cuisine of the Northern Delta is evoked with the entrance space as a bamboo arched path to drop conical hats, followed by a brick road with about 15 stalls with bamboo tables and chairs for creating space: banh da, sticky rice cake, small steamed rice cake, peanut candy, sesame peanut candy, peanuts, sesame, boiled corn, Syzygium nervosum water, green tea, etc.; making bamboo pens in Hoai Duc district, toy figurine molding in Phu Xuyen, making conical hats in Chuong village… At the stalls, sellers will wear traditional costumes.

Also at the space of “Country market – Childhood memories”, there are also some children’s activities for children with “Traditional cultural experiences”. Here, children will participate in the interactive activity of “Being an artisan for a day”, participate in the beautiful handwriting contest “Handwriting, human character”, the painting contest “I love my village” and many children’s folk games such as Mandarin Square Capturing, “đánh chắt chơi chuyền” and making kites at the Ethnic Village Exhibition Hall II.

In addition, coming to “Country Market – Childhood Memories”, viewers also have the opportunity to understand more about many rituals and customs of some typical ethnic groups such as: “Dâng y tắm mưa” ceremony, also known as Nhập hạ ceremony organized by Buddhist families; “Cúng ché” ceremony organized by the Ede ethnic group in Dak Lak province…

In addition, on the occasion of the series of events “Country market – Childhood memories”, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, there are daily activities, weekends, Homestay tour programs, culinary experiences, folk games, etc. These are activities to introduce the culture, customs and habits of some ethnic groups, and experience activities at the “Common House” of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, contributing to enhancing exchanges between ethnic groups, attracting tourists to the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.
