The Capital Culture and Sports Sector successfully organized many major programs and events

In the first 6 months of 2022, Hanoi safely and successfully organized major activities and events of the capital and the country such as celebrating the 92nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam; 47th anniversary of Liberation of the South, reunification of the country; 68th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; 132nd anniversary..

In the first 6 months of 2022, Hanoi safely and successfully organized major activities and events of the capital and the country such as celebrating the 92nd founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam; 47th anniversary of Liberation of the South, reunification of the country; 68th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; 132nd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday; Program “31-day countdown to the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31)”; coordinated in organizing the celebration of the 120th birthday of Comrade Nguyen Phong Sac, the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia; Safely organized 02 football matches: Vietnam – China, Vietnam – Oman in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar final qualification – Asia region, etc.

Regarding the task of building grassroots culture, 95.8% of households registered to build the title of Cultural family; 96.5% of hamlets and villages registered to build the title of Cultural Village; 99% of residential groups registered to build the title of Cultural residential Group; 95% of units registered for the title of Agency, unit or enterprise meeting cultural standards. The city also conducted a review and statistics on the status of the system of cultural and sports institutions in the city.

The conservation and promotion of heritage values ​​has achieved certain results, specifically, 52 projects, 07 reports on economic and technical adjustment, 15 designs of construction drawings, 03 designs of adjustment of construction drawings for restoration and embellishment of monuments (for national-ranked monuments) has been submitted to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Cultural Heritage for appraisal. The sector organized to receive the certificate of special national monument Thang Long Tu Tran, appraised and approved the investment policy of the project of preserving and embellishing the relics of Ngu Trieu Di Quy communal house and My Chau shrine at Co Loa citadel relic site; reported and consulted the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on applying for permission to excavate archeology at Thang Long Imperial Citadel. Promulgated and implemented a plan to survey and evaluate the current status of restoration and embellishment of monuments and places to commemorate the event of the resistance war to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the victory “Hanoi – Dien Bien Phu in the air”.

Hanoi Library has opened to serve readers in both forms: reading on the spot and lending it home, granted 6,519 reading cards; 926,321 reads; 1,164,960 turns of documents served to readers. Organizing the launching ceremony of the 2nd Hanoi City Reading Culture Ambassador contest,  Online Book Introduction Contest 2022; organizing activities to respond to the first Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2022 at Hanoi Library with the theme “Revival of culture and development of reading culture”.

Visual propaganda and promotion was carried out early and focused on important contents. Decoration of all kinds (large panels, medium panels, small panels, clusters of 2 sides, 3 sides, 4 sides) at fixed panels, median strips, corners, traffic islands, the central area of the City and thousands of vertical banners serving political events in the City were hang up..

The Hanoi theaters organized nearly 192 art performances; Deployed the organization of the amateur Ca Tru singing festival in Hanoi – 2022, Modern dance competition “Young rhythm of life”, Photo and video clip contest with the theme “Hanoi in my heart”, The 1st Festival of Mass Art between New Rural Communes, Urban Civilized Wards in Hanoi – 2022; Participated in the National Amateur Dance Competition – In 2022 in An Giang province, Hanoi achieved excellent results with 01 Gold medal in  program event – ranked first among 27 provinces and cities participating in the Contest, 02 gold medals and 03 silver medals in performance event, 01 award in Promising Actor event; participated in the “Red River Convergence” Concert in 2022 in Ha Nam province, and won 01 Gold medal in the program event ; 02 Gold medals and 02 silver medals in performance event.

The Capital Sports sector gathered all resources to organize events, competitions as well as participated in competitions at the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31). Directing and coordinating to organize the Opening and Closing Ceremonies thereof was carefully prepared, completed, gathered all efforts, mobilized maximum resources for implementation. The Opening and Closing Ceremony widely promoted to international friends about the thousand-year-old tradition of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, which is attractive, safe and friendly. Hanoi Sports Delegation participated 37 events at the SEA Games 31, and gained 62 gold medals, 35 silver medals, 54 bronze medals (total 151 medals of all kinds, accounting for 30.24% of the total number of medals. of Vietnam Sports Delegation). Hanoi Sports has contributed 01 coach, 04 athletes to  the Women’s National Football Team which excellently and firstly won the right to participate in the 2023 Women’s World Cup final round to be held in Australia and New Zealand; 03 Hanoi athletes participated in the men’s national under-23 football team which won the championship of the Southeast Asian U23 Championship in 2022; Gained national tops at tournaments: Wushu Strong Teams, Chess Champion, Best Archer Champion, Kickboxing Champion, Club-level Handball Champion, Sports Dance Champion, Club-level Muay Champion, Team Weightlifting Champion, Team Chess Champion.

In addition to the achieved results, the Capital Culture and Sports Sector still has certain shortcomings, specifically, some work programs of the City Party Committee, People’s Council and City People’s Committee were still behind schedule, some plans had not been assured quality, the implementation still had some shortcomings.

In the last 6 months of 2022, the Culture and Sports sector will focus on accelerating the construction progress and completing the plans and projects assigned to implement the Program 06-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the City Party Committee on “Developing culture, improving the quality of human resources, building elegant and civilized Hanoians in the period of 2021 – 2025”. Speeding up the development of plan for implementing the Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU dated 22/02/2022 on “Developing the cultural industry in Hanoi capital in the period of 2021-2025, orientation to 2030, vision to 2045”. Implementing programs and plans to fulfill Hanoi’s commitment to UNESCO when participating in the Creative Cities network. Completing the plan to build the Thang Long-Hanoi cultural heritage database on technology foundation 4.0 to ensure progress and quality. Focusing on speeding up the Hanoi Museum exhibition project, focusing on: Carrying out the display construction work at the Museum House; Preparing content for the opening. Developing a plan to organize cultural, artistic, and sports activities to celebrate major events and holidays taking place in the last 6 months of 2022, the New Year’s Eve 2023 program. Organizing the Capital Sports Festival and preparing athletes to compete in the 9th National Sports Festival, striving to keep the 1st position.
