Facing the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic with the fast-spreading Delta variant, Hoai Duc district has mobilized strength in pandemic prevention and control. Propaganda work has been strengthened by the district in many forms, helping to raise awareness and community responsibility in each citizen.

In Hoai Duc district, there are currently over 2,700 people from the police, military, medical, militia and self-defence forces, etc., who are on duty 24h at the pandemic control checkpoints; prepare the conditions for the establishment and operation of the district’s concentrated isolation area. Along with that, about 2,800 people joined 117 Community COVID Teams with 1,014 groups; 357 COVID-19 Safety Teams at enterprises to review, remind and urge each household and production team to seriously implement pandemic prevention and control measures; strictly abide by social distancing regulations.
This is the force on the spot, responsible for tracing and managing the area to identify cases related to the case. Many officials and members of unions and households have volunteered to take part in the duty at the alleys and residential areas to protect the “safe green zone” from the pandemic; provide logistics services for key forces or organize groups to connect and support farmers to consume agricultural products during social distancing.
The district’s socio-political organizations have actively promoted their key role in propagandizing and mobilizing officials, members, union members and the people to support the pandemic prevention and control. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoai Duc district has mobilized to support the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control fund with more than VND 6.5 billion; received gifts worth over VND 300 million to be sent to people in blocked areas in 2 communes An Khanh and An Thuong. District Labor Confederation awarded 475 gifts to workers with the amount of VND 950 million.
The Women’s Union mobilized its members to participate in supporting the pandemic prevention and control forces and called for 320 essential food packages for the blocked areas. Youth Union organizes mobile propaganda by loudspeakers in each commune 2-4 times/day; establishes 20 volunteer youth teams to help the Steering Committees for pandemic prevention and control of communes to distribute free more than 5,000 face shields and masks.
The district’s Culture and Information sector has promoted propaganda on the prevention and control of COVID-19 in many forms such as communes and towns actively hung banners and propaganda slogans on pandemic prevention and control at major roads, central areas, traditional markets… to convey the message of pandemic prevention and control to people; using cars and motorbikes with speakers and propaganda images on COVID-19 prevention and control to help people update the complicated developments of the disease and take preventive measures to protect their family, friends and community.
The Culture and Information sector also promotes propaganda through the radio system from the district to the grassroots by regularly and continuously propagating Directive No. 05 by the City Party Committee on urgent measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic; Directive No. 17, Dispatch No. 18 by the City People’s Committee on implementing social distancing in the spirit of Directive No. 16 by the Prime Minister; propagandize people to well implement pandemic prevention and control measures according to the 5K recommendation by the Ministry of Health, etc. join hands to fight the pandemic.

During the implementation of Directive No. 17 and Official Dispatch No. 18 by the City People’s Committee on social distancing, with the participation of the whole political system and the consensus of the People, up to now, Hoai Duc district has basically protected the “safe green zone” in the prevention and control of COVID-19 pandemic. People in Hoai Duc district have gradually gotten used to using travel paper, shopping cards or production options “3 on the spot”, “1 road, 2 destinations” in enterprises; “one producer per field” in agriculture, etc.
With the peculiarity of being a suburban district, there are many traditional craft villages and major roads which making Hoai Duc still have a high risk of disease, especially for those communes where there is a lot of traffic coming in and out to trade essential goods. Therefore, along with the determination of authorities at all levels in the pandemic prevention and control, people in the district are also raising their awareness of strictly implementing Directive No. 17 and Official Letter No. 18 by the City People’s Committee on social distancing; actively respond to the program “Million safety shields 5K + Vaccines” launched by the Ministry of Health… to repel the pandemic.
