Olympic Run Day for the People’s Health, Launching Ceremony of the 47th Open Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run Tournament – For Peace 2021 is one of the key sports activities of great socio-political significance of Hanoi city on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2021) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945-September 2, 2021), 67th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2021) and 64th anniversary of the first issue of the daily Hanoi Moi Newspaper (October 24, 1957 – October 24, 2021), and at the same time towards SEA Games 31 and ASEAN Para Games 11.

The attendees in the Olympic Run Day for the People’s Health, Launching Ceremony of the 47th Open Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run Tournament – For Peace 2021 included: Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Olympic Committee Hoang Vinh Giang; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City People’s Council Phung Thi Hong Ha; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city Nguyen Thi Lan Huong and representatives of departments, agencies and branches of Hanoi city.
At the ceremony, Chairman of the Hanoi City People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh said, “Olympic Run Day for People’s Health is the inheritance and promotion of President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology of “people’s power brings the nation’s prosperity” with the ideals of the world’s Olympic movement. The Run Day aims to continue promoting the response to the campaign “All people exercise their body following the great Uncle Ho’s example” for the period 2021-2030, thereby to improve people’s physical health, contribute to the quality of human resources of the country and the capital, build a healthy lifestyle and culture, consolidate the great solidarity of the whole people.
“In the days of March and April 2021, branches and levels across the city continue to seriously perform the tasks of preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic, but districts, towns and cities still implement synchronously the plan of Olympic Run Day for People’s Health in association with the Launching Ceremony of the 47th Open Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run Tournament – For Peace. This is a popular mass sports tournament of the Capital, which has a great tradition and prestige today,” noted Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh

At the launching ceremony, the Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee also added that SEA Games 31 and ASEAN Para Games 11 are approaching, with the spirit of “Hanoi for the whole country, the whole country for Hanoi” and carrying out the tasks assigned by the Central Government to hosting unit. Hanoi city is focusing highly to direct branches and levels to concretize work content, prepare the best facilities and conditions for a successful SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games with a high impression, safety, peace and friendship, spreading in the hearts of regional and international friends with the thoughtfulness, hospitality and friendliness; thereby, contributing to promoting the good image of Vietnam and Hanoi capital in the trend of integration and development.
“Hanoi city will strive to contribute 30% of athlete force, 30% of the total number of gold medal winners of Vietnam Team at the Games. As a result, on behalf of the city’s leaders, I suggest all sectors and levels from the city to the grassroots, districts, and towns continue to direct and focus on mobilizing resources for effective implementation of Olympic Run Day for People’s Health every year, respond to the movement of All people exercise their body following the great Uncle Ho’s example in the period 2021-2030 and launch he 47th Open Hanoi New Newspaper Run Tournament For Peace 2021 towards the SEA Games 31 and the ASEAN Para Games 11 to achieve the highest results”, directed Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh.

Olympic Run Day for the People’s Health, Launching Ceremony of the 47th Open Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run Tournament – For Peace 2021 have 600 participants from sectors of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, cheerleaders, public security, gifted high school students, Hoan Kiem district.
The event aims to encourage a large number of people from all walks of life to participate in physical training and sports in response to the movement “All people exercise their body following the great Uncle Ho’s example” and “Be healthy to develop a career and defense our country”, propagandize to raise awareness in all levels and sectors, from the city to the grassroots, of the role, significance and effects of exercise and sports in improving the people’s quality of life, the quality of life and the quality of life and Human Resources, build a healthy lifestyle and culture, contribute to the consolidation of the great unity bloc of the whole people.
At the launching ceremony, delegates, athletes, people and visitors enjoyed special art programs including songs about Hanoi, dancesport and martial art performances. After the launching ceremony, delegates and athletes participated in running around Hoan Kiem Lake.
