Facing the complicated evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic, implementing the instructions of the People’s Committee of Hanoi City in the prevention of pandemic and ensuring the safety of visitors, Temple of Literate Culture and Science Center and the Management Board of Hoa Lo Prison have issued a notice to temporarily open for visitors for cleaning and disinfection of areas at the relic under the guidance of the Ministry of Health. It starts from February 16, 2021 (ie from the 5th day of the Lunar New Year 2021).

Before that, at the online meeting of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in Hanoi city with districts, towns on the afternoon of February 15 (the 4th day of Lunar New 2021), the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hanoi City, Mr. Chu Xuan Dung – Head of National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control evaluated that, in the past 2 days, the pandemic situation had new developments, including the death of Japanese people at the Somerset West Point hotel and 2 related cases. Currently, the pandemic situation has many hidden risks in the community, when these patients own complicated travel schedules and difficult traceability.

Mr. Chu Xuan Dung suggested localities and units strictly implement the directives issued by the Government, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the People’s Committee of Hanoi City, including the Directive No. 03/CT-UBND dated February 3, 2021 on the drastic implementation of measures to prevent and control the Covid-19  in the new situation; continue to raise awareness of pandemic prevention; conduct communication for pandemic prevention according to the message “5K” (Masks – Disinfection – Distance – Medical declaration – Not gathering in large groups), especially wearing masks.

Besides, the Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, Mr. Chu Xuan Dung, agreed with the proposals of the units. In which, the city authority agreed to close street eateries, iced tea shops, coffee shops; temporarily suspend the opening of monuments. The Vice Chairman also suggested that the Department of Culture and Sports continue to supervise the festival organization at the beginning of the year.
