On June 21, the Hanoi Women’s Union organized a Family Day with the theme “Family Day – Loving Connection”. At the event, the Organizing Committee gave gifts, exchanged and connected Godmothers to 70 orphans with special circumstances, orphans due to Covid-19, who were represented for nearly 200 orphans connected to Godmothers by the organization in this period. The Organizing Committee awarded for the writing contest on contemporary family issues, displayed books and introduced certain safe, friendly products, OCOP products of craft villages and city businesswomen. Within the framework of the program, the Hanoi Women’s Union has coordinated with the Hanoi Youth Union to organize a drawing contest for young people in the capital with the theme “My safe and friendly city”.
In particular, on June 22, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports held a conference to meet typical cultural families in Hanoi, praise 30 typical cultural families in 30 districts, towns communes in the City. These were families with outstanding achievements in the fields of culture – society, economic development, humanitarian activities, etc., and the shining examples in the Movement “All people unite to build cultural life” in Hanoi.
From June 25 to 28, Vietnam Family Day 2022 took place at the Vietnam Art and Culture Exhibition Center (No. 2 Hoa Lu, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi) with many activities in response to Vietnam Family Day June 28.
Vietnam Family Day is an annual event with a variety of contents and activities. This year, the event was held from June 25 to 28, bringing visitors many new and interesting programs, such as: Black and white art photo exhibition on the theme “Family”, Exhibition “Peace after storm”, Exhibition “Lighting” which introduced art works of lights recycled from industrial waste materials. In addition, there were Vietnamese and international cultural and culinary festivals with dishes created from eggs; fashion show “Three Generations”, an idol exchange program with the theme “Sport in Vietnamese families”, a reading space for children and cultural exchange imprinted with national identity.
Participating in the festival, the provinces and cities, including Hanoi, Lang Son, Khanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Lam Dong introduced to the public the achievements of family work, women’s work, child protection and care, of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, economic development, of emulation movement to build family happiness in the localities in new era.
Over the past time, many districts, towns in Hanoi have organized practical activities to honor family values, especially typical families.
Children’s paintings of the capital for family theme displayed at the exhibition “Peaceful families – Happy society” within the framework of Vietnam Family Day
On June 25, Bac Tu Liem district held a contest “Happy family” in 2022 with the theme “Peaceful family – Happy society”. The “Happy Family” contest in Bac Tu Liem district in 2022 attracted the participation of 12 families from 12 wards in the district. With the theme “Peaceful family – Happy society”, through the contest, these families had the opportunity to exchange, meet and share experiences, knowledge and skills to build a happy family, improve the cohesion and mutual understanding between family members, contributing to preserving and promoting the good traditional values of Vietnamese families, building a prosperous, happy, progressive and civilized family.
On June 27, Hoan Kiem District Women’s Union organized the program “Family Day – Loving connection” on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of Vietnam Family Day and National Action Month on Family Violence Prevention and Control in 2022.
Chairwoman of the Hoan Kiem District Women’s Union Trinh Thi Hue said that due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic in the past two years, the lives of many families in the district in general and the families of the Union members in particular were difficult. But solidarity, love, sympathy, share, the spirit of “to love each other deeply” to work together to overcome difficulties caused by the epidemic was spread.
“The Women’s Union of the district and grassroots implemented many activities associated with the implementation of the campaign Building a family of 5 No’s, 3 Clean’s, “Women of the capital with beautiful behaviors”, promoted propaganda against domestic violence” – Ms. Trinh Thi Hue said.
Many localities also combined propaganda to raise awareness of all levels, sectors and people in the implementation of the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence; Marital Act. Along with that are the roles and responsibilities of families and social communities in domestic violence prevention and control, gender equality and building happy families.
For the Vietnam Family Day to be truly meaningful and promote beautiful values, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Van Anh called on each individual to work together and share responsibility, give determination to successfully carry out the tasks of economic and social development, to inherit and promote the good traditions of Vietnamese families, selectively acquire new and progressive values to “Build a prosperous, equal, progressive and happy family”.
