Specifically, talking to reporters in the weekly press briefing conference organized by the City Party Committee on the afternoon of December 31, 2019, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh said that on the early days of Lunar New Year 2020, Hanoi City will spend nearly VND 380 billion giving gifts to 859,271 people who are family under preferential treatment policy and people with meritorious services to the revolution,  and Vietnamese heroic mothers …

Accordingly, those who receive gifts of VND 1 million / person include Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the people’s armed forces, Labor hero of the resistance period, war invalids, war invalids of category B, and preferential policy beneficiaries like war invalids who have the working capacity decrease of 21% or more, diseased soldiers with a working capacity decrease of 41% or higher, revolutionary activists, people with meritorious services to the revolution, representatives of martyrs’ relatives, youth volunteers, resistance activists infected with toxic chemicals, revolutionary activists and resistance activists imprisoned by the enemy…

Gifts of VND 500,000 / person are given to Children of resistance activists infected with toxic chemicals receiving a monthly allowance, representatives of the families who are worshiping martyrs, participants in the war to defend the Fatherland, international missions in Cambodia, assistance for Laos after April 4, 1975, who have discharged, demobilized or quitted their jobs … and laborers in extremely hard circumstances (according to the proposal of the City Labor Union), former volunteers with extremely hard circumstances (lonely, without monthly allowance).

Gifts of VND 300,000 / person are given to people who are enjoying monthly pensions and working capacity loss allowances, families of the poor. The City also stipulates that the gifts of the longevity celebration for the elderly aged more than 100 years old, 100 years old and 90 and 95 years old are VND 1.2 million, 1.5 million and 1 million, respectively…

In addition, Hanoi also gave gifts of from VND 4 million to VND 16 million to 87  nurturing units of people with meritorious services, typical production units of wounded and diseased soldiers, etc.,  of VND 200,000 to the employees directly serving Tet days at the level of VND 200,000 and of VND 100,000 added to meals on New Year days to those who are being treated and nurtured in units under the management of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; Hospital 09 – Department of Health.

On the Tet occasion of Lunar New Year, the leaders of the city will visit and wish New Year in each district, district and towns for typical subjects of revolutionary comrades, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, dignitaries, intellectuals, families under the preferential policy, workers, elite citizens, good people with good deeds and poor households in the area…

In addition to the city’s activities of visiting and giving gifts, all 30 districts, towns, organizations and unions in the City make plans, mechanisms and policies to support social policy families and people in difficult circumstances to ensure that everyone and every family have Tet, depending on the conditions and practical capabilities in their localities.

Currently, all districts, towns and cities in the city have issued plans to ensure the compliance with the requirements of the City including delivering gifts to the right people and the right address, and completing this work before January 15, 2020 (i.e, December 22, lunar year of the Pig).
