“For Vietnam, all the reports we received are similar to those in the UK; there are some cases of infection but the overall situation is not yet worrisome. We are advised that the race can still take place normally,” said Mr. Ross Brawn.

The above statement means that the first race held in Vietnam will still take place on April 5.

Prior to such statement, the representative of the organizer of the Formula 1 Hanoi Vietnam Grand Prix 2020, General Director of Vietnam Grand Prix Limited Liability Company Le Ngoc Chi also said that the organizing committee closely monitored the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as followed the instructions given by the ministries, branches, and Hanoi city on disease prevention and control, to ensure safety for the race tracks, athletes, and visitors.

Currently, Hanoi city departments and branches are performing many tasks to support the tournament, such as building a traffic diversion plan to protect the F1 race; arranging officials and employees to monitor the event, ensuring health as well as preventing the spread of the disease; developing plans for accommodation, destinations, advertising, heritage introduction, etc. to attract visitors during the event, etc.

The construction progress in Hanoi has been sped up for the final acceptance of the works by the FIA on April 2 for operation for the Formula 1 Hanoi Vietnam Grand Prix 2020.
