The contest is aimed at propagating the context, developments, causes of victory, and lessons learned from the August Revolution, confirming the stature and historical significance of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and the creative application of those lessons in the cause of national reunification, especially in the current cause of innovation and global integration.

The works should be aimed at propagating the great achievements that the Party and people have obtained during these 75 years of building, defending, and developing the country; emphasizing the victories of the national liberation wars with the peaks being the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954 and the Great Spring Victory in 1975 which liberated the nation, protected the territorial integrity of the country, and made huge contributions to the global struggle. The works also need to focus on propagating the great achievements of historical significance obtained during over 30 years of economic reform; the lessons learned in building and defending the revolutionary government, and building the Socialist State of Vietnam; the opportunities, advantages, disadvantages, and challenges facing the country; the issues associated with the task of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation, especially the task of socio-economic development, improvement of the people’s material and spiritual life, national defense and security, and solid defense of national independence and territorial integrity; and the fight against false information, misrepresentation of history, denial of historical values ​​and significance of the August Revolution and the leadership role of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, etc.

The contest is open to all professional and amateur painters who are Vietnamese residing in Vietnam and abroad. Each author may turn in one or more works. The works should be recently created, have not been used for other contests, and have not been disseminated in any form.

Prizes to be given include 1 First Prize (VND 15 million), 2 Second Prizes (VND 8 million each), 3 Third Prizes (VND 5 million each), 10 Consolation Prizes (VND 2 million each) and 1 Movement Prize (VND 8 million) for the unit that gathers the largest number of authors with high quality works.

In addition to the winning works, the organizers will also choose a number of quality works to show at exhibitions and for use during nationwide propaganda programs in any form during holidays, celebrations, and appropriate politic missions.

The time for receiving works is from now until the end of June 22, 2020, at Propaganda Department – Grassroots Culture Department (86A, Lane III, Le Van Huu, Hanoi City). The closing and award ceremony is scheduled to be held in September 2020.
