On the afternoon of 14th April, at Kim Ngan communal house, 42 Hang Bac, Ha Noi, Ha Noi Board of Old Quarters Management in coordination with the artisans held a cultural activity to introduce and display the traditional craft of rattan and bamboo weaving of Phu Vinh village, Chuong My district, ha Noi.

The rattan and bamboo knitting craft village of Phu Vinh, Phu Nghia, Chuong My has been known for nearly 400 years now, but till 2002 it was officially recognized as a traditional craft village. People living in this area have produced a diversity of fine artistic products from rattan and bamboo materials such as: decoration objects, plate, flower vase, lamp shield, curtain, table and desk, portrait picture, landscape picture, traditional music instrument, paralle senctences, horizontal lacqueur board engraved with Chinese characters,…     With their creativeness and skillful hands, artisans in Phu vinh have created hundreds of weaving mothodologies namely: fiish bone knitting, flower shaping combined with colours, embossed carvings on various product samples with high sophisticatedness and aesthetics.

Within the framework of the activity, there is an exbihition of the traditional rattan and bamboo knitting craft village of Phu vinh, in which there will be corners displaying and installing unique rattan and bamboo products, at the same time haveing a chance to intercourse with meritorious artisan Nguyen Van Trung.
