Implementing the theme of year 2022 of the Long Bien District Party Committee “Year of good public relations, focusing on site clearance and urban embellishment”; The plan of the Women’s Union of Ngoc Thuy ward on organizing activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Long Bien district, including the content of building streets and lanes Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful – Civilized, the Women’s Union of residential group No.10 has registered the “Flower Street” model. To implement the model effectively, the Women’s Union collaborated with residential group to propagate and mobilize citizens to actively participate with the socialization resources from local habitant and local private enterprises to jointly implement. After a period of preparation, the model of “Flower Street” in residential group 10 has been implemented in several stages.
Through knowledge and research, it is known that pinto peanut is flower plat with good vitality, fast growing, easy to grow, easy to care for, adapt to the weather and beautiful colors, flowers bloom all year round, suitable for the landscape, roadside as well as ensure the preservation of the dike, anti-erosion; The Women’s Union has chosen to plant in each dike section and propagate it gradually. After the implementation period, the route has been completed with more than 1000m, the residential group No.10 has been planted with all pinto peanut flowers with a total cost of over 200 million VND.
Currently, the District Women’s Union is continuing to propagate pinto peanut and it is expected that by 06/11/2023 on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Long Bien district, the streets will be covered with pinto peanut flowers. and will become a Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful – Civilized streets.
The model of “Flower Streets” at the residential group 10, Ngoc Thuy ward is an activity to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Long Bien district (06/11/2003 – 06/11/2023). Moreover, this is one of the practical activities to raise the awareness and responsibility of women and the entire local people in protecting the living environment and building a clean, beautiful, and civilized streets. In the coming time, the Women’s Union of Ngoc Thuy ward will continue to replicate this model to others wards in the area, contributing to creating a “Bright – Green – Clean – Beautiful – Civilized streets”.
