On June 18, 2022, the District Party Committee – People’s Council – People’s Committee – Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Xuyen district solemnly held a ceremony to announce and receive the Prime Minister’s Decision recognizing Phu Xuyen district to meet new rural standards (NRS) in 2020.

Implementing the national target program on building new rural areas, over the past 10 years (from 2010 to 2020), Phu Xuyen district has synchronously implemented tasks and solutions, issued resolutions, programs, and held projects, specific mechanisms suitable to the actual situation in the locality. The whole district has mobilized over VND 4,600 billion to invest in building and completing the rural infrastructure system in a synchronous and modern direction, creating conditions to promote socio-economic development. 9/9 criteria on building new rural district according to central regulations have been fulfilled by the district. 25/25 communes of the district have met the new rural standards.
After 10 years of new rural development, Phu Xuyen’s economic growth averaged 6.65%/year, budget revenue in the district in 2020 reached VND 1,965 billion, increasing by 257% compared to 2010. The average agricultural production value on the cultivated area is VND 200-230 million/ha. Some models even reached VND 400-500 million/ha. The development of industry, handicrafts and services is concerned. The whole district has 43 craft villages recognized as traditional craft villages by the City; there are 546 enterprises, cooperatives and 17,600 production and business households in the fields of industry, handicrafts, craft villages; 3 industrial clusters have been established. Currently, 2 industrial clusters in Dai Thang and Phu Tuc craft villages have been under construction. Implementing the program of one product per commune, by 2021, the whole district will have 137 Ocoop products recognized with 3 stars or more. Phu Xuyen district has completed the construction of 100% of the system of inter-commune, inter-village, and hamlet axis roads; solidified 980 km of the main road in the field, reaching the rate of 100%. The system of schools and teaching equipment has been upgraded to ensure standards. As a result, the whole district has 56/88 schools recognized as national standard ones.
After 10 years of building the new rural area, all classes of people in the district have contributed VND 276 billion, 150,000 working days, donated nearly 2,000 square meters of residential land and tens of thousands of square meters of agricultural land to expand rural roads, intra-field traffic and construction and repair of local welfare works. The material and spiritual life of the people in the area is also being improved day by day: The district’s per capita income in 2020 reached VND 52 million/person, increasing by 37.1 million compared to 2010; the rate of poor households decreased to 0.4%; the number of people of working age having a job reached 95.5%. …With the results achieved, on April 25, 2022, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 515-QDTTg, recognizing Phu Xuyen district to meet the new rural standard of 2020.
At the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen – Member of the Party Central Committee – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee awarded the Prime Minister’s Certificate of recognition of the district meeting new rural standards in 2020. Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen acknowledged and praised the efforts of the Party Committee, authorities and people of Phu Xuyen district who have concentrated resources, intelligence, and made contribution to the process of building a new countryside, making Phu Xuyen district more and more developed.
According to the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Phu Xuyen district is the southern “gateway” of the capital, a land rich in cultural and revolutionary traditions, imbued with cultural identity in the Red River Delta; The district has a convenient geographical location and traffic, is one of the five satellite towns of the Capital with traditional handicraft villages with brands and high economic value… Comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyen suggested. Phu Xuyen district be not satisfied with the achieved achievements, but need to arouse the aspiration to develop, continue to maintain and further improve the criteria of new rural areas in the direction of advanced new rural areas, new model rural area with agricultural economic restructuring and rural economic development; integrate criteria for building new rural areas with criteria for building and developing satellite cities…
On behalf of officials and people of Phu Xuyen district, Secretary of the Party Committee of Phu Xuyen district, Le Ngoc Anh, accepted the direction of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen; At the same time, he expressed his gratefulness for the attention and support of the leaders of the Central and City levels, the consensus and efforts of the Party committees and authorities in the district and of organizations, businesses and people in the locality.
He affirmed that the Prime Minister’s decision to recognize the district as meeting NRS in 2020 is not only a worthy recognition for the efforts of the Party Committee, authorities, officials, party members and people in the district but also an opportunity for the district to continue to develop rapidly and sustainably in the coming years./.
